Tinting your car windows by yourself, can often be a disaster waiting to happen, choosing the right shade, brand, and also just lining it up on the glass and applying it, can be very difficult! Driving your car to have the tint applied locally can be a real burden too, having to take time off work, or losing your vehicle for several hours waiting for it to be completed, is often very inconvenient.

At Tinted we’re completely mobile, and we cover all of the West Midlands & Warwickshire including Barnacle and local areas. So we will come to your workplace or home, saving you a lot of time or valuable holiday days. We guarantee our work for a lifetime for your peace of mind, and we are fully insured for every tinting job we do.

What we do

  • You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and place that suits you.
  • Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only requiring access to a power point.
  • We then clean the car windows with 100% pure water to clear away any dirt or invisible debris before we tint them.
  • We could need to remove door cards to gain access to the complete window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
  • After the windows have been tinted, we ask that you don’t use the windows for around 7 days to allow them to completely dry, this safeguards the edge of the tint.
  • We’re then able to take payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.

Which window tint shade is the right choice for your car?

Choosing the right tint shade can be difficult. Here are some things to ask yourself:

  1. Is the tint to make you car look great?
  2. Is it to look after children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
  3. Do you want to conceal valuables out of sight?

Using your answers to those questions our trained specialists can help you to choose the right shade. These are the three main shades available:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but giving total visibility even in darkness.

Medium tintThis is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers a safeguard from heat, UV rays and also adds some privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is the most popular, it protects from UV rays, heat and offers total privacy.

Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?

We’re often asked about this. Firstly, let us explain how tint is measured.

The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is allowed through. Therefore a 20% tint allows 20% of light through.

The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Most of cars made today have tinted glass at almost (or close to) a 70% tint. Although to some people it doesn’t look tinted, it really is.

If you choose to get your front windows tinted this is the potential penalty (click this link for details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the road until you remove the extra tint.
  • A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.

Also, something to consider is your car insurance. By tinting the front windows of your car, it’s possible to invalidate your insurance.

It’s also against the law to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with large fines and penalties. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable company that all customers rely on and because of this we choose not to disobey the law. So we decided to not tint front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

What type of tint do you install?

Not every window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:

Dyed/Dipped Window

This is often found be the cheapest tint on the market, it bubbles, fades, and will likely go a blue or purple colour after a while. It is quite poor, and we don’t recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also cheap. It is affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This isn’t a premium tint, and, won’t last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Premium industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it provides great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio signals.

Ceramic

The best tint available, provided as our premium service. It provides the best colour/longevity, is not affected by heater lines, does not affect radio reception and gives the most UV/temperature protection.

All that being said, not all tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years of experience, we have selected what we believe is the best brand available, and even better, it is manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you choose our services you are actually supporting two UK businesses.
