Tinting your car windows on your own, can be a disaster waiting to happen, choosing the right shade, brand, and even just lining it up on the glass and applying it, can be a real pain! Taking your vehicle to be tinted at a local garage can be a hassle as well, having to take time off work, or be without your car for several hours waiting for it to be completed, is often very inconvenient.

At Tinted we’re 100% mobile, and we cover all of the West Midlands & Warwickshire including Shirley and surrounding areas. So we can visit your workplace or home, saving you time or valuable holiday days. We offer a lifetime guarantee for your peace of mind, and we are fully insured for all the tinting work we do.

We can also offer both tinted and sun strips, headlight tints, bonnet & roof wraps, and interior vinyl wraps.

How it works

  • You make a booking for a time slot and place that suits you.
  • Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only needing access to power.
  • We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to eliminate any dirt or microscopic debris before we tint them.
  • We might need to remove door cards to gain access to the complete window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
  • When the windows have been tinted, we believe its best that you do not use the windows for around a week to allow them to dry fully, this preserves all the edges of the tint.
  • We can then recieve payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.

Which window tint shade is right for your car?

Selecting the correct tint shade can be tricky. Here are some things to ask yourself:

  1. Would this tint be to make you car look great?
  2. Is it to look after children or animals from heat or UV rays?
  3. Do you want keep valuables from view?

From your answers to the questions our trained professionals can help you to choose the right shade. Below are the three main shades to choose from:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but giving complete visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers shelter from UV rays, heat & also adds a little privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is our most widely selected, it provides a guard from UV rays, heat and offers absolute privacy.

Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?

We are asked this question many times. To start with, let us explain how tint is measured.

The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. Therefore a 20% tint makes possible for 20% of light through.

The legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Nearly all of vehicles made today have tinted windows at almost (or nearly) a 70% tint. Although to some people this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, it really is.

If you choose to have your front window glass tinted this is the potential penalty (click this link for details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping you using your vehicle on the UK road network unless you remove the extra tint.
  • A penalty notice and a court summons.

Also, a factor to consider is your car insurance. By tinting your front windows, you can nullify your insurance.

It’s also illegal to install tint to the front windows, with heavy fines and penalties. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable business that all clients rely on and as such we do not want to break the law. So we decided to not tint your front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

Which of the available tint do you install?

Not all window tint was created equal! The window tints available are:

Dyed/Dipped Window

This tends to be the cheapest product available to the market, it bubbles, fades, and will likely go a blue or purple colour after a while. It isn’t good quality, and we do not recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This is not a good option, and, will not last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Premium industry-standard tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it provides great colour, longevity, does not get affected by heater lines & doesn’t affect the radio signals.

Ceramic

The most superior tint available, offered as our premium service. It has the best longevity/colour, the heater lines do not affect it, won’t affect radio signals and provides the most temperature/UV protection.

Having said that, not all tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years in the industry, we have selected what we think is best brand available, and what is more, it is all manufactured in Great Britain, meaning when you choose our services you are actually supporting two UK businesses.
