Tinting your car windows by yourself, can be a real hassle, choosing the best brand, shade, and even just lining it up on the glass and applying it, can be problematic! Taking your car to be tinted locally can be a hassle too, needing to take the time off work, or be without your car for several hours while you wait for it to be completed, is often not possible.

At Tinted we are completely mobile, and can cover all of Warwickshire & the West Midlands including Radford Semele and surrounding areas. So we will come to your workplace or home, saving you time or valuable holiday days. We offer a lifetime guarantee for your peace of mind, and we are fully insured for every tinting job we do.

We also provide both tinted and sun strips, headlight tints, bonnet & roof wraps, and interior wraps.

How it works

  • You book a time slot and place that suits you.
  • Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only needing access to power.
  • We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% filtered water to eliminate any dirt or invisible debris previous to tinting them.
  • We might need to detach the door cards to gain access to the entirety of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
  • Once the windows have been tinted, we ask that you do not use the windows for around 7 days so that they can completely dry, this safeguards the edge of the tint.
  • We’re then able to accept payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.

What window tint shade is right for your car?

Choosing the correct tint shade can be hard. Here are some things to ask yourself:

  1. Is the tint to make you car look great?
  2. Is it to look after children or animals from UV rays or heat?
  3. Is it cover up valuables from sight?

Using your responses to these questions our trained professionals can help you to select the correct shade. Here are the three main shades available:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but giving full visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers a safeguard from heat, UV rays and also adds some privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is our most commonly selected, it protects from heat, UV rays and offers total privacy.

Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?

We are often asked about this. To start with, let us describe the way tint is measured.

The percentage given for a tint defines the amount of light that is allowed through. So, a 20% tint permits 20% of light through.

The legal limit on each of the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Most of vehicles the come from the factory today have tinted glass at already (or nearly) a 70% tint. Although to some people this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, it actually is.

If you go ahead and have your front window glass tinted your penalties range from (click here for more details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ banning you using your vehicle on the UK road network unless you strip the tint from your vehicle.
  • A penalty notice and a court summons.

Also, something to think about is your car insurance. By tinting the front windows of your car, you can invalidate your insurance.

It’s also illegal to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with heavy penalties & fines. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable business that all clients rely on and as such we choose not to break the law. So we decided to not tint your front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

What type of tint do you use?

Not every window tint was created equal! The window tints available are:

Dipped/Dyed Window

This tends to be the cheapest product available to the market, it bubbles, fades, and often goes a blue or purple colour eventually. Its really not great, and we don’t recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This isn’t a good option, and, will not last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Top industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio reception.

Ceramic

The greatest tint money can buy, provided as our premium service. It has the best colour/longevity, isn’t affected by heater lines, doesn’t affect radio and gives the most UV/temperature protection.

Having said that, not all tint manufacturers are the same, after many years in the industry, we have chosen what we have found to be the best brand available, and what is more, it is manufactured in Great Britain, meaning when you choose our services you are actually supporting two UK businesses.
