What we do

  • You book an appropriate appointment time and place convenient to you.
  • Our uniformed team will arrive, only requiring access to a powered plug socket.
  • We then wash the vehicle windows with 100% filtered water to remove any dirt or invisible debris before we tint them.
  • We may need to detach the door cards to gain access to the entirety of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
  • Once the windows are tinted, we request you do not use the windows for at least 7 days to allow them to dry fully, this protects the edge of the tint.
  • We can then take payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.

What window tint shade is right for your vehicle?

Selecting the right tint shade can be hard. Here are some things to ask yourself:

  1. Would this tint be for style and looks?
  2. Is it to shield children or animals from UV rays or heat?
  3. Do you want cover up valuables from view?

Based on your answers to these questions our qualified specialists can help you to choose the right shade. These are the 3 main shades to choose from:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but allowing for complete visibility even in darkness.

Medium tintThis is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers shelter from UV rays, heat & also adds a little privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is our most commonly selected, it protects from heat, UV rays and offers absolute privacy.

Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?

We are asked this question many times. Firstly, let’s describe how tint is measured.

The percentage produced for a tint defines the amount of light that is let through. So, a 20% tint permits 20% of light through.

The legal limit on each of the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the glass at the front must let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. The vast majority of cars the come from the factory today have tinted windows at almost (or close to) a 70% tint. Although to some this glass doesn’t look tinted, in actual fact it is.

If you choose to have your front windows tinted this is the potential penalty (click this link for details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping your vehicle being used on the road unless you strip the tint from your vehicle.
  • A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.

Also, something to think about is your car insurance. By tinting the front windows of your car, you may invalidate your insurance.

It’s also against the law to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with heavy penalties & fines. Tinted is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy business that all customers rely on and as such we choose not to break the law. So we choose not to tint front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

Which of the available tint do you install?

Not all window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:

Dyed/Dipped Window

This tends to be the cheapest product available to the market, it fades, bubbles, and often goes a blue or purple colour eventually. It is quite poor, and we do not recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio signals. This isn’t a premium tint, and, will not last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Top industry-standard tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it provides great colour, longevity, is not affected by heater lines & doesn’t affect the radio signals.

Ceramic

The best tint we can buy, provided as our premium service. It has the best colour/longevity, the heater lines do not affect it, will not affect radio reception and gives the most UV/temperature protection.

All that being said, not all window tint manufacturers are the same, after many years of experience, we have selected what we think is best brand available, and even better, it is all manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you choose our services you are actually supporting two UK businesses.
