How it works

  • You book an appropriate appointment time and place that suits you.
  • Our uniformed staff will arrive, only requiring access to a powered plug socket.
  • We then clean the car windows with 100% pure water to eliminate any dirt or unseen debris previous to tinting them.
  • We could need to remove door cards to gain access to the complete window. This is done to the best professional standard.
  • After the windows have been tinted, we request you do not use the windows for at least a week so that they can completely dry, this safeguards the edge of the tint.
  • We can then accept payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.

What window tint shade is the right choice for you?

Selecting the correct tint shade can be tricky. Here are some things to ask yourself:

  1. Would this tint be for style and looks?
  2. Is it to look after children or animals from UV rays or heat?
  3. Is it to conceal valuables from sight?

Using your responses to the questions our qualified professionals are able to help you to select the correct shade. Here are the three main shades to choose from:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but giving full visibility even in darkness.

Medium tintThis is a factory tinted look, it offers protection from UV rays, heat & does add some privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is the most widely selected, it protects from heat, UV rays and provides total privacy.

Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?

We’re regularly asked this question. Firstly, let us describe how tint is measured.

The percentage given for a tint defines the amount of light that is allowed through. So, a 20% tint makes possible for 20% of light to pass through.

The legal limit on each of the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through. Nearly all of cars produced today come with tinted glass at almost (or nearly) a 70% tint. Although to some people this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, it really is.

If you go ahead and get your front windows tinted your penalties range from (click this link for details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the UK road network unless you strip the tint from your vehicle.
  • A penalty notice and a court summons.

Also, a factor to consider is the insurance on your car. By tinting the front windows of your car, it’s possible to nullify your insurance.

It’s also illegal to install tint to a cars front windows, with large fines and penalties. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable company that all clients rely on and because of this we do not want to break the law. So we choose not to tint any front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

What type of tint do you install?

Not all window tint meets our standards! The window tints available are:

Dyed/Dipped Window

This is often found be the cheapest tint available to the market, it fades, bubbles, and will likely go a blue or purple colour in the end. It isn’t good quality, and we do not recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio signals. This is not a premium tint, and, will not last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Premium industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, longevity, does not get affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio signals.

Ceramic

The best tint we can buy, offered as our premium service. It has great colour/longevity, is not affected by heater lines, does not affect radio signal and gives the best temperature/UV protection.

Having said that, not all tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we think is best brand available, and what is more, it is all manufactured in Great Britain, meaning when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
