How it works
- You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and place convenient to you.
- Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only requiring access to a powered plug socket.
- We then clean the car windows with 100% pure water to clear away any dirt or unseen debris previous to tinting them.
- We could need to detach the door cards to access the workings of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- After the windows have been tinted, we ask that you do not use the windows for at least 7 days so that they can dry fully, this safeguards all the edges of the tint.
- We’re then able to recieve payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.
Which window tint shade is the right choice for you?
Selecting the correct tint shade can be difficult. Here are some things to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be for style and looks?
- Is it to protect children or animals from UV rays or heat?
- Is it cover up valuables out of sight?
Based on your answers to the questions our trained professionals are able to help you to choose the right shade. Here are the three main shades available:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but giving full visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers protection from heat, UV rays & does add a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most popular, it can safeguard from heat, UV rays and offers complete privacy.

They’ve come out and installed the tints, but due to the weather being bad, there were some issues with the tint and some air got underneath the tints. When I informed them about it, they were quick to come out and resolve the issue, even though it was freezing and raining outside. Would definitely hire them again for more tinting jobs.

Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We are often asked about this. Firstly, let’s describe how tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines the amount of light that is let through. So, a 20% tint allows 20% of light to pass through.
The legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. The vast majority of vehicles produced today have tinted windows at almost (or nearly) a 70% tint. Even though to some this glass doesn’t look tinted, it really is.
If you choose to have your front windows tinted this is the potential penalty (click here for more details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the UK road network until you strip the tint from your vehicle.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
Also, a factor to consider is the insurance on your car. By tinting the front windows of your car, you can nullify your insurance.
It’s also illegal to install tint to a cars front windows, with hefty penalties & fines. Tinted is a trustworthy,respectable and reliable business that all clients rely on and because of this we do not want to break the law. So we will not tint front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tint do you install?
Not all window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:
Dyed/Dipped Window
This tends to be the cheapest product available to the market, it bubbles, fades, and often goes a blue or purple colour in the end. Its really not great, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also cheap. It is damaged by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also disturb radio signals. This is not a good option, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The best tint money can buy, provided as our premium service. It provides the best colour/longevity, is not affected by heater lines, will not affect radio reception and provides the most temperature/UV protection.
All that being said, not all window tint manufacturers are the same, after many years in the industry, we have selected what we have found to be the best brand available, and what is more, it is all manufactured in Great Britain, meaning when you hire our services you are actually supporting two UK companies.
