What we do
- You book an appropriate appointment time and a location that suits you.
- Our uniformed crew will arrive, only needing access to a power point.
- We then clean the car windows with 100% filtered water to clear away any dirt or invisible debris before we tint them.
- We could need to remove door cards to access the workings of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- When the windows are tinted, we request you do not use the windows for at least a week to allow them to completely dry, this protects all the edges of the tint.
- We’re then able to take payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.
What window tint shade is right for your vehicle?
Choosing the best tint shade can be difficult. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be for the look & style of your car?
- Is it to shield children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
- Is it cover up valuables out of sight?
Based on your responses to these questions our fully trained specialists are able to help you to choose the right shade. These are the three main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but allowing for full visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers shelter from UV rays, heat and does add some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most commonly selected, it protects from heat, UV rays and gives complete privacy.
Which car windows are we able to tint?
We’re asked this question many times. To start with, let us describe the way tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is allowed through. So, a 20% tint allows 20% of light to pass through.
The legal limit on each of the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through. Nearly all of vehicles made today come with tinted windows at already (or nearly) a 70% tint. Even though to some people it doesn’t seem to be tinted, in actual fact it is.
If you go ahead and have your front windows tinted your penalties range from (click this link for details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning you using your vehicle on the road unless you strip the tint from your vehicle.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
Also, something to think about is the insurance on your car. By tinting your front windows, you may nullify your insurance.
It’s also against the law to install tint to a cars front windows, with hefty fines and penalties. Tinted is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy business that all customers rely on and because of this we choose not to break the law. So we will not tint any front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you use?
Not all window tint was created equal! The types of window tint available are:
This is often found be the least expensive product on the market, it fades, bubbles, and often goes a blue or purple colour eventually. It isn’t good quality, and we do not recommend it.
This tint is also cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This isn’t a premium tint, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, longevity, is not affected by heater lines & doesn’t affect the radio signals.
The greatest tint on the market, provided as our premium service. It has great longevity/colour, isn’t affected by heater lines, doesn’t affect radio and gives the best UV/temperature protection.
All that being said, not all window tint manufacturers are the same, after many years in the industry, we have selected what we think is best brand available, and even better, it’s manufactured in the UK, which means that when you hire our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
