Tinting your car windows yourself, can be a real pain, selecting the best brand, shade, and even just lining it up on the glass and applying it, can be problematic! Our process

  • You book a time slot and place convenient to you.
  • Our uniformed team will arrive, only requiring access to power.
  • We then wash the vehicle windows with 100% filtered water to eliminate any dirt or invisible debris before we tint them.
  • We could need to remove door cards to gain access to the workings of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
  • Once the windows have been tinted, we believe its best that you do not use the windows for at least a week so that they can dry fully, this preserves all the edges of the tint.
  • We’re then able to accept payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.

What window tint shade is the right choice for you?

Choosing the best tint shade can be difficult. Here are some questions to ask yourself:

  1. Is the tint to make you car look great?
  2. Is it to look after children or animals from heat or UV rays?
  3. Is it to conceal valuables from view?

Using your responses to these questions our fully trained specialists are able to help you to pick the right shade. Here are the three main shades available:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but allowing for total visibility even in darkness.

Medium tintThis is a factory tinted look, it offers a safeguard from UV rays, heat and also adds a little privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is our most widely selected, it can safeguard from heat, UV rays and offers total privacy.

Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?

We’re regularly asked this question. Firstly, let us describe how tint is measured.

The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. So, a 20% tint permits 20% of light to pass through.

The legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Most of vehicles made today come with tinted glass at almost (or close to) a 70% tint. Although to some this glass doesn’t look tinted, it really is.

If you choose to get your front window glass tinted this is the potential penalty (click this link for details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping you using your vehicle on the UK road network until you strip the tint from your vehicle.
  • A penalty notice and a court summons.

Also, something to consider is the insurance on your car. By tinting your front windows, it’s possible to invalidate your insurance.

It’s also illegal to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with large fines and penalties. Tinted is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy business that all clients rely on and as such we choose not to break the law. So we decided to not tint any front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

What type of tint do you use?

Not every window tint meets our standards! The window tints available are:

Dipped/Dyed Window

This is often found be the cheapest tint on the market, it fades, bubbles, and normally goes a blue or purple colour in the end. It isn’t good quality, and we don’t recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This isn’t a good option, and, won’t last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Top industry-standard tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines & doesn’t affect the radio reception.

Ceramic

The most superior tint money can buy, provided as our premium service. It has the best colour/longevity, isn’t affected by heater lines, doesn’t affect radio signals and provides the most temperature/UV protection.

Having said that, not all tint manufacturers are the same, after many years in the industry, we have chosen what we have found to be the best brand available, and what is more, it is all manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you choose our services you are actually supporting two UK businesses.
