Tinting your car windows by yourself, is often a disaster waiting to happen, selecting the best shade, brand, and even just aligning it with the window and applying it, can be problematic! Taking your car to be tinted locally can often be a hassle as well, needing to take time off work, or be without your car for several hours while you wait for it to be completed, is often very inconvenient.

At Tinted we’re 100% mobile, and can cover all of the West Midlands & Warwickshire including Poynton and local areas. So we can visit your home or place of work, saving you time or valuable holiday days. We guarantee our work for a lifetime for your peace of mind, and we are fully insured for every tinting job we do.

We also offer both tinted and vinyl sun strips, car light tints, roof and bonnet vinyl wraps, and interior vinyl wraps.

How it works

  • You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and place convenient to you.
  • Our uniformed crew will arrive, only requiring access to power.
  • We then wash the car windows with 100% filtered water to clear away any dirt or unseen debris previous to tinting them.
  • We might need to remove door cards to access the workings of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
  • When the windows have been tinted, we believe its best that you don’t use the windows for at least 7 days to allow them to dry fully, this preserves all the edges of the tint.
  • We can then recieve payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.

What window tint shade is right for your vehicle?

Selecting the right tint shade can be difficult. Here are some things to ask yourself:

  1. Is the tint to make you car look great?
  2. Is it to look after children or animals from UV rays or heat?
  3. Do you want to conceal valuables from view?

Based on your answers to those questions our fully trained specialists can help you to pick the right shade. These are the three main shades available:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but allowing for full visibility even in darkness.

Medium tintThis is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers shelter from heat, UV rays & also adds a little privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is our most commonly selected, it protects from heat, UV rays and gives absolute privacy.

Which car windows can we tint?

We’re asked this question many times. To start with, let’s explain the way tint is measured.

The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. Therefore a 20% tint permits 20% of light to pass through.

The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through. Most of vehicles the come from the factory today come with tinted windows at already (or nearly) a 70% tint. Although to some people this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, in actual fact it is.

If you choose to get your front window glass tinted your penalties range from (click this link for details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping your vehicle being used on the UK road network unless you remove the extra tint.
  • A penalty notice and a court summons.

Also, a factor to consider is the insurance on your car. By tinting your front windows, you can invalidate your insurance.

It’s also illegal to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with hefty fines and penalties. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable business that all clients rely on and as such we do not want to break the law. So we decided to not tint your front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

What type of tint do you use?

Not every window tint was created equal! The types of window tint available are:

Dyed/Dipped Window

This tends to be the least expensive product available to the market, it fades, bubbles, and normally goes a blue or purple colour eventually. Its really not great, and we don’t recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This is not first class, and, will not last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Premium industry-standard window tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it provides great colour, longevity, does not get affected by heater lines & doesn’t affect the radio reception.

Ceramic

The best tint we can buy, offered as our premium service. It has the best longevity/colour, isn’t affected by heater lines, will not affect radio signal and gives the most temperature/UV protection.

All that being said, not all window tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we have found to be the best brand available, and even better, it’s manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you hire our services you are actually supporting two UK companies.
