What we do

  • You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and place that suits you.
  • Our uniformed team will arrive, only needing access to a powered plug socket.
  • We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% filtered water to eliminate any dirt or unseen debris previous to tinting them.
  • We may need to remove door cards to gain access to the complete window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
  • Once the windows have been tinted, we believe its best that you do not use the windows for around 7 days so that they can dry fully, this safeguards the edge of the tint.
  • We’re then able to recieve payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.

Which window tint shade is the right choice for you?

Choosing the right tint shade can be difficult. Here are some things to ask yourself:

  1. Would this tint be for the look & style of your car?
  2. Is it to protect children or animals from UV rays or heat?
  3. Is it cover up valuables from view?

From your answers to the questions our fully trained specialists are able to help you to pick the correct shade. These are the 3 main shades available:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but allowing for total visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is a factory tinted look, it offers a safeguard from heat, UV rays & also adds some privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is our most commonly selected, it protects from heat, UV rays and gives absolute privacy.

Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?

We are asked this question many times. Firstly, let’s describe how tint is measured.

The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is allowed through. Therefore a 20% tint permits 20% of light to pass through.

The legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through. The vast majority of vehicles produced today have tinted glass at almost (or close to) a 70% tint. Although to some this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, it actually is.

If you go ahead and get your front window glass tinted this is the potential penalty (click this link for details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping you using your vehicle on the UK road network unless you remove the extra tint.
  • A penalty notice and a court summons.

Also, a factor to think about is the insurance on your car. By tinting the front windows of your car, you may nullify your insurance.

It is also against the law to install tint to the front windows, with heavy fines and penalties. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable business that all customers rely on and because of this we do not want to break the law. So we decided to not tint your front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

Which of the available tint do you install?

Not every window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:

Dipped/Dyed Window

This tends to be the cheapest product available to the market, it fades, bubbles, and often goes a blue or purple colour eventually. It is quite poor, and we do not recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also cheap. It is affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This isn’t a premium tint, and, won’t last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Premium industry-standard tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines & doesn’t affect the radio signals.

Ceramic

The finest tint we can buy, offered as our premium service. It provides great longevity/colour, isn’t affected by heater lines, won’t affect radio reception and provides the most UV/temperature protection.

All that being said, not all window tint manufacturers are the same, after many years in the industry, we have chosen what we think is best brand available, and what is more, it is all manufactured in the UK, which means that when you hire our services you are actually supporting two UK companies.
