What we do

  • You book a time slot and a location that suits you.
  • Our uniformed staff will arrive, only requiring access to a powered plug socket.
  • We then clean the car windows with 100% pure water to remove any dirt or microscopic debris before we tint them.
  • We may need to remove door cards to gain access to the complete window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
  • After the windows have been tinted, we believe its best that you don’t use the windows for around a week so that they can completely dry, this protects the edge of the tint.
  • We can then accept payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.

Which window tint shade is right for your vehicle?

Selecting the right tint shade can be tricky. Here are some questions to ask yourself:

  1. Is the tint to make you car look great?
  2. Is it to protect children or animals from UV rays or heat?
  3. Is it keep valuables out of sight?

Using your responses to the questions our trained specialists are able to help you to pick the right shade. These are the three main shades to choose from:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but allowing for complete visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is a factory tinted look, it offers shelter from UV rays, heat & does add a little privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is the most popular, it provides a guard from heat, UV rays and gives total privacy.

Which car windows are we able to tint?

We are asked this question many times. To start with, let us describe how tint is measured.

The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is allowed through. Therefore a 20% tint makes possible for 20% of light through.

The allowed legal limit on each of the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the glass at the front must let 70-75% of the light through. The vast majority of cars made today have tinted windows at almost (or close to) a 70% tint. Even though to some this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, in actual fact it is.

If you choose to get your front window glass tinted the potential penalty will be (click here for more details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ banning you using your vehicle on the road unless you remove the extra tint.
  • A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.

Also, something to consider is your car insurance. By tinting the front windows of your car, you may invalidate your insurance.

It is also illegal to install tint to the front windows, with hefty fines and penalties. Tinted is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy business that all customers rely on and because of this we do not want to break the law. So we decided to not tint your front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

What type of tint do you install?

Not all window tint was created equal! The types of window tint available are:

Dyed/Dipped Window

This is often found be the least expensive tint on the market, it fades, bubbles, and often goes a blue or purple colour after a while. Its really not great, and we don’t recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also interrupt radio reception. This isn’t first class, and, will not last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Top industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it provides great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio signals.

Ceramic

The finest tint on the market, provided as our premium service. It has the best longevity/colour, isn’t affected by heater lines, won’t affect radio and provides the most UV/temperature protection.

Having said that, not all tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years in the industry, we have chosen what we have found to be the best brand available, and even better, it’s manufactured in Great Britain, meaning when you hire our services you are actually supporting two UK companies.
