What we do

  • You book a time slot and place that suits you.
  • Our uniformed staff will arrive, only requiring access to a power point.
  • We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to clear away any dirt or microscopic debris previous to tinting them.
  • We might need to detach the door cards to access the entirety of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
  • When the windows have been tinted, we request you do not use the windows for around 7 days so that they can completely dry, this safeguards all the edges of the tint.
  • We can then accept payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.

What window tint shade is right for your vehicle?

Selecting the correct tint shade can be difficult. Here are some questions to ask yourself:

  1. Is the tint for the look & style of your car?
  2. Is it to protect children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
  3. Do you want cover up valuables from view?

Using your answers to those questions our qualified specialists are able to help you to pick the correct shade. These are the 3 main shades available:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but giving total visibility even in darkness.

Medium tintThis is a factory tinted look, it offers shelter from heat, UV rays and also adds some privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is our most widely selected, it protects from UV rays, heat and offers total privacy.

Which car windows are we able to tint?

We’re regularly asked this question. Firstly, let us explain the way tint is measured.

The percentage produced for a tint defines the amount of light that is let through. Therefore a 20% tint makes possible for 20% of light to pass through.

The allowed legal limit on each of the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the glass at the front must let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. The vast majority of cars made today have tinted windows at almost (or close to) a 70% tint. Even though to some people this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, it actually is.

If you go ahead and get your front window glass tinted your penalties range from (click here for more details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping you using your vehicle on the road unless you strip the tint from your vehicle.
  • A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.

Also, something to think about is your car insurance. By tinting the front windows of your car, you can invalidate your insurance.

It is also against the law to install tint to the front windows, with heavy penalties & fines. Tinted is a reliable, trustworthy & respected business that all customers rely on and because of this we choose not to break the law. So we will not tint front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

What type of tint do you use?

Not all window tint was created equal! The types of window tint available are:

Dipped/Dyed Window

This tends to be the least expensive product available to the market, it fades, bubbles, and often goes a blue or purple colour in the end. It isn’t good quality, and we don’t recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also often very cheap. It is damaged by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio signals. This isn’t first class, and, will not last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Top industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, is not affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio reception.

Ceramic

The greatest tint we can buy, provided as our premium service. It has great longevity/colour, the heater lines do not affect it, won’t affect radio signal and provides the most temperature/UV protection.

Having said that, not all window tint manufacturers are the same, after many years of experience, we have selected what we have found to be the best brand available, and what is more, it’s manufactured in the UK, meaning when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
