What we do

  • You make a booking for a time slot and place that suits you.
  • Our uniformed crew will arrive, only needing access to a powered plug socket.
  • We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to remove any dirt or invisible debris previous to tinting them.
  • We might need to remove door cards to gain access to the complete window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
  • When the windows are tinted, we ask that you do not use the windows for at least 7 days so that they can dry fully, this safeguards the edge of the tint.
  • We are then able to take payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.

What window tint shade is right for you?

Choosing the best tint shade can be tricky. Here are some questions to ask yourself:

  1. Would this tint be to make you car look great?
  2. Is it to look after children or animals from UV rays or heat?
  3. Is it cover up valuables from sight?

Using your answers to these questions our fully trained specialists can help you to pick the right shade. Here are the 3 main shades to choose from:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but allowing for full visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers a safeguard from UV rays, heat & does add some privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is our most widely selected, it protects from heat, UV rays and provides total privacy.

Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?

We are asked this question many times. Firstly, let us describe how tint is measured.

The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is allowed through. Therefore a 20% tint allows 20% of light through.

The allowed legal limit on each of the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through. Nearly all of cars produced today come with tinted glass at already (or close to) a 70% tint. Even though to some people it doesn’t seem to be tinted, it really is.

If you choose to get your front windows tinted your penalties range from (click this link for details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the UK road network unless you strip the tint from your vehicle.
  • A penalty notice and a court summons.

Also, something to think about is the insurance on your car. By tinting the front windows of your car, you can invalidate your insurance.

It’s also illegal to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with hefty fines and penalties. Tinted is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy business that all clients rely on and because of this we choose not to disobey the law. So we choose not to tint any front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

Which of the available tint do you use?

Not every window tint was created equal! The types of window tint available are:

Dyed/Dipped Window

This tends to be the least expensive tint on the market, it bubbles, fades, and often goes a blue or purple colour eventually. It isn’t good quality, and we don’t recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also cheap. It is damaged by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This isn’t first class, and, will not last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Premium industry-standard tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, longevity, does not get affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio signals.

Ceramic

The most superior tint money can buy, offered as our premium service. It provides the best longevity/colour, isn’t affected by heater lines, doesn’t affect radio signal and gives the best temperature/UV protection.

All that being said, not all window tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years in the industry, we have selected what we believe is the best brand available, and what is more, it’s manufactured in the UK, meaning when you hire our services you are actually supporting two UK businesses.
