How it works
- You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and a location convenient to you.
- Our uniformed crew will arrive, only requiring access to power.
- We then wash the car windows with 100% filtered water to eliminate any dirt or unseen debris before we tint them.
- We may need to detach the door cards to access the complete window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- Once the windows are tinted, we ask that you do not use the windows for around a week to allow them to dry fully, this preserves all the edges of the tint.
- We’re then able to take payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.
Which window tint shade is the right choice for your car?
Choosing the right tint shade can be hard. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Is the tint to make you car look great?
- Is it to protect children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
- Do you want cover up valuables out of sight?
Using your responses to the questions our fully trained professionals are able to help you to choose the correct shade. Below are the 3 main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but allowing for complete visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers shelter from heat, UV rays and also adds some privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most popular, it can safeguard from UV rays, heat and offers absolute privacy.
Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We are regularly asked this question. To start with, let us describe the way tint is measured.
The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is allowed through. So, a 20% tint allows 20% of light through.
The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Most of vehicles made today have tinted windows at already (or nearly) a 70% tint. Even though to some people this glass doesn’t look tinted, in actual fact it is.
If you choose to have your front windows tinted your penalties range from (click this link for details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the road unless you have the extra tint removed.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
Also, something to think about is the insurance on your car. By tinting the front windows of your car, you can invalidate your insurance.
It’s also against the law to install tint to a cars front windows, with heavy fines and penalties. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable business that all customers rely on and because of this we choose not to break the law. So we decided to not tint your front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you install?
Not every window tint meets our standards! The window tints available are:
This is often found be the cheapest product available to the market, it fades, bubbles, and normally goes a blue or purple colour in the end. Its really not great, and we don’t recommend it.
This tint is also cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This is not a premium tint, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Premium industry-standard tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it provides great colour, longevity, does not get affected by heater lines & does not affect the radio reception.
The most superior tint available, offered as our premium service. It has the best longevity/colour, isn’t affected by heater lines, does not affect radio reception and gives the most temperature/UV protection.
Having said that, not all window tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years in the industry, we have chosen what we have found to be the best brand available, and what is more, it is all manufactured in the UK, which means that when you choose our services you are actually supporting two UK companies.
