How it works

  • You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and place that suits you.
  • Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only requiring access to a power point.
  • We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% filtered water to eliminate any dirt or unseen debris before we tint them.
  • We might need to remove door cards to gain access to the complete window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
  • Once the windows have been tinted, we believe its best that you don’t use the windows for at least a week to allow them to completely dry, this preserves all the edges of the tint.
  • We are then able to take payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.

Which window tint shade is the right choice for you?

Selecting the best tint shade can be hard. Here are some things to ask yourself:

  1. Is the tint for the look & style of your car?
  2. Is it to look after children or animals from heat or UV rays?
  3. Do you want keep valuables out of sight?

Based on your answers to the questions our fully trained professionals can help you to pick the correct shade. Below are the 3 main shades available:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but giving full visibility even in darkness.

Medium tintThis is a factory tinted look, it offers protection from heat, UV rays & does add a little privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is our most popular, it provides a guard from UV rays, heat and offers total privacy.

Which car windows can we tint?

We are asked this question many times. Firstly, let us describe the way tint is measured.

The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is allowed through. Therefore a 20% tint makes possible for 20% of light through.

The legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through. The vast majority of cars the come from the factory today come with tinted windows at almost (or nearly) a 70% tint. Even though to some people this glass doesn’t look tinted, it really is.

If you choose to have your front windows tinted your penalties range from (click this link for details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the UK road network until you strip the tint from your vehicle.
  • A penalty notice and a court summons.

Also, a factor to consider is your car insurance. By tinting the front windows of your car, you may invalidate your insurance.

It is also illegal to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with hefty penalties & fines. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable company that all customers rely on and because of this we do not want to break the law. So we decided to not tint front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

What type of tint do you use?

Not every window tint was created equal! The window tints available are:

Dipped/Dyed Window

This is often found be the least expensive tint on the market, it bubbles, fades, and will likely go a blue or purple colour eventually. Its really not great, and we don’t recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio reception. This is not a good option, and, will not last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Top industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, is not affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio reception.

Ceramic

The finest tint we can buy, offered as our premium service. It provides the best colour/longevity, isn’t affected by heater lines, won’t affect radio signals and gives the best temperature/UV protection.

All that being said, not all tint manufacturers are the same, after many years of experience, we have selected what we think is best brand available, and even better, it is manufactured in the UK, meaning when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
