What we do

  • You book an appropriate appointment time and a location that suits you.
  • Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only requiring access to power.
  • We then clean the car windows with 100% pure water to clear away any dirt or unseen debris previous to tinting them.
  • We may need to detach the door cards to access the entirety of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
  • When the windows are tinted, we request you do not use the windows for at least 7 days so that they can completely dry, this safeguards all the edges of the tint.
  • We can then accept payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.

Which window tint shade is right for your car?

Selecting the best tint shade can be tricky. Here are some questions to ask yourself:

  1. Would this tint be for the look & style of your car?
  2. Is it to shield children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
  3. Is it cover up valuables from sight?

Based on your answers to those questions our fully trained professionals can help you to choose the right shade. Here are the 3 main shades to choose from:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but giving complete visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers shelter from UV rays, heat and also adds some privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is the most popular, it protects from UV rays, heat and offers absolute privacy.

Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?

We are asked this question many times. Firstly, let us describe the way tint is measured.

The percentage produced for a tint defines the amount of light that is allowed through. So, a 20% tint permits 20% of light through.

The legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through. Most of cars produced today have tinted glass at almost (or close to) a 70% tint. Although to some this glass doesn’t look tinted, it really is.

If you choose to get your front window glass tinted your penalties range from (click this link for details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ banning you using your vehicle on the UK road network unless you have the extra tint removed.
  • A penalty notice and a court summons.

Also, a factor to consider is the insurance on your car. By tinting the front windows of your car, you may invalidate your insurance.

It is also against the law to install tint to a cars front windows, with large fines and penalties. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable business that all customers rely on and because of this we choose not to disobey the law. So we decided to not tint your front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

Which of the available tint do you use?

Not all window tint was created equal! The window tints available are:

Dipped/Dyed Window

This tends to be the cheapest tint available to the market, it fades, bubbles, and will likely go a blue or purple colour in the end. It isn’t good quality, and we do not recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also often very cheap. It is affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio signals. This isn’t a premium tint, and, will not last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Premium industry-standard tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines & doesn’t affect the radio signals.

Ceramic

The greatest tint on the market, offered as our premium service. It provides the best colour/longevity, the heater lines do not affect it, will not affect radio reception and provides the best temperature/UV protection.

Having said that, not all tint manufacturers are the same, after many years of experience, we have selected what we have found to be the best brand available, and even better, it is manufactured in the UK, which means that when you choose our services you are actually supporting two UK businesses.
