Tinting car windows yourself, is often a real hassle, choosing the best brand, shade, and even just lining it up on the glass and applying it, can be very difficult! Taking your car to have the tint applied at a local garage can be a real burden too, needing to take time off work, or losing your car for several hours waiting for it to be finished, is often very inconvenient.

At Tinted we’re 100% mobile, and we can cover all of the West Midlands & Warwickshire including Greenhill and nearby towns. So we can visit your home or place of work, saving you time or valuable holiday days. We offer a lifetime guarantee for your peace of mind, and we are completely insured for every tinting job we do.

We also offer both tinted & vinyl sun strips, light tints, bonnet & roof wraps, and interior vinyl wraps.

Our process

  • You book an appropriate appointment time and place that suits you.
  • Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only needing access to power.
  • We then wash the car windows with 100% pure water to eliminate any dirt or invisible debris before we tint them.
  • We might need to detach the door cards to gain access to the workings of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
  • When the windows have been tinted, we believe its best that you do not use the windows for at least 7 days to allow them to completely dry, this preserves all the edges of the tint.
  • We are then able to recieve payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.

What window tint shade is right for you?

Selecting the best tint shade can be hard. Here are some things to ask yourself:

  1. Would this tint be for style and looks?
  2. Is it to protect children or animals from heat or UV rays?
  3. Is it keep valuables from view?

From your responses to those questions our fully trained specialists are able to help you to pick the right shade. Here are the 3 main shades available:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but allowing for full visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is a factory tinted look, it offers shelter from heat, UV rays and also adds a little privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is the most popular, it provides a guard from heat, UV rays and gives complete privacy.

Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?

We’re often asked about this. To start with, let’s describe the way tint is measured.

The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. Therefore a 20% tint allows 20% of light through.

The legal limit on each of the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Most of vehicles the come from the factory today have tinted glass at almost (or close to) a 70% tint. Even though to some people it doesn’t seem to be tinted, it actually is.

If you choose to get your front windows tinted this is the potential penalty (click this link for details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping you using your vehicle on the UK road network until you remove the extra tint.
  • A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.

Also, a factor to think about is your car insurance. By tinting your front windows, you can invalidate your insurance.

It’s also illegal to install tint to the front windows, with heavy penalties & fines. Tinted is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy company that all customers rely on and as such we do not want to break the law. So we choose not to tint your front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

What type of tint do you install?

Not all window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:

Dipped/Dyed Window

This is often found be the cheapest product available to the market, it fades, bubbles, and will likely go a blue or purple colour after a while. It is quite poor, and we don’t recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This isn’t a good option, and, won’t last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Top industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, longevity, is not affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio signals.

Ceramic

The best tint on the market, provided as our premium service. It has the best colour/longevity, isn’t affected by heater lines, will not affect radio signals and gives the best UV/temperature protection.

All that being said, not all manufacturers of tint offer the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we believe is the best brand available, and even better, it is manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you hire our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
