What we do
- You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and place that suits you.
- Our uniformed staff will arrive, only needing access to power.
- We then clean the car windows with 100% filtered water to eliminate any dirt or unseen debris previous to tinting them.
- We may need to detach the door cards to gain access to the workings of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- After the windows have been tinted, we ask that you don’t use the windows for around a week to allow them to dry fully, this safeguards the edge of the tint.
- We can then recieve payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.
Which window tint shade is right for you?
Selecting the correct tint shade can be difficult. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Is the tint for the look & style of your car?
- Is it to look after children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
- Do you want cover up valuables from sight?
Based on your answers to the questions our trained specialists are able to help you to choose the right shade. Below are the three main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but allowing for complete visibility even at night.
Medium tint – This is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers protection from UV rays, heat & also adds a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is our most widely selected, it protects from heat, UV rays and gives total privacy.

They’ve come out and installed the tints, but due to the weather being bad, there were some issues with the tint and some air got underneath the tints. When I informed them about it, they were quick to come out and resolve the issue, even though it was freezing and raining outside. Would definitely hire them again for more tinting jobs.

Which car windows are we able to tint?
We are regularly asked this question. Firstly, let’s describe how tint is measured.
The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. So, a 20% tint allows 20% of light to pass through.
The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. The vast majority of vehicles the come from the factory today come with tinted glass at already (or close to) a 70% tint. Although to some people this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, it really is.
If you choose to get your front windows tinted this is the potential penalty (click this link for details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the UK road network unless you remove the extra tint.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
Also, a factor to consider is the insurance on your car. By tinting the front windows of your car, you may invalidate your insurance.
It’s also against the law to install tint to the front windows, with heavy fines and penalties. Tinted is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy business that all customers rely on and because of this we choose not to break the law. So we decided to not tint your front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you install?
Not every window tint was created equal! The types of window tint available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This is often found be the cheapest tint on the market, it fades, bubbles, and often goes a blue or purple colour in the end. Its really not great, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This isn’t a premium tint, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it provides great colour, its long lasting, is not affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The finest tint money can buy, provided as our premium service. It provides great colour/longevity, is not affected by heater lines, will not affect radio reception and provides the most UV/temperature protection.
Having said that, not all manufacturers of tint offer the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we believe is the best brand available, and even better, it is manufactured in the UK, which means that when you hire our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
