Our process

  • You make a booking for a time slot and a location convenient to you.
  • Our uniformed team will arrive, only requiring access to a powered plug socket.
  • We then wash the car windows with 100% pure water to eliminate any dirt or invisible debris previous to tinting them.
  • We might need to remove door cards to gain access to the workings of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
  • After the windows have been tinted, we request you do not use the windows for at least a week so that they can dry fully, this protects the edge of the tint.
  • We are then able to recieve payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.

Which window tint shade is the right choice for your car?

Selecting the best tint shade can be hard. Here are some questions to ask yourself:

  1. Would this tint be for the look & style of your car?
  2. Is it to protect children or animals from heat or UV rays?
  3. Is it keep valuables out of view?

Based on your responses to the questions our trained professionals are able to help you to pick the correct shade. These are the three main shades available:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but allowing for complete visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is a factory tinted look, it offers a safeguard from heat, UV rays & also adds a little privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is the most popular, it can safeguard from heat, UV rays and offers absolute privacy.

Which car windows are we able to tint?

We’re often asked about this. To start with, let us describe how tint is measured.

The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. Therefore a 20% tint allows 20% of light through.

The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. The vast majority of cars the come from the factory today come with tinted windows at almost (or nearly) a 70% tint. Although to some this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, it really is.

If you choose to get your front window glass tinted the potential penalty will be (click this link for details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the road until you have the extra tint removed.
  • A penalty notice and a court summons.

Also, a factor to think about is the insurance on your car. By tinting your front windows, it’s possible to invalidate your insurance.

It’s also against the law to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with large penalties & fines. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable business that all clients rely on and because of this we do not want to break the law. So we will not tint front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

Which of the available tint do you install?

Not all window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:

Dyed/Dipped Window

This tends to be the cheapest tint on the market, it bubbles, fades, and often goes a blue or purple colour after a while. It isn’t good quality, and we don’t recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also cheap. It is damaged by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This is not a premium tint, and, won’t last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Premium industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, longevity, does not get affected by heater lines & doesn’t affect the radio reception.

Ceramic

The finest tint available, provided as our premium service. It provides the best colour/longevity, isn’t affected by heater lines, won’t affect radio reception and provides the best UV/temperature protection.

All that being said, not all tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years of experience, we have selected what we believe is the best brand available, and even better, it is manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you hire our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
