What we do

  • You book an appropriate appointment time and a location that suits you.
  • Our uniformed team will arrive, only requiring access to a power point.
  • We then wash the vehicle windows with 100% filtered water to remove any dirt or microscopic debris before we tint them.
  • We may need to remove door cards to access the complete window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
  • After the windows have been tinted, we believe its best that you do not use the windows for at least 7 days so that they can completely dry, this preserves all the edges of the tint.
  • We can then take payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.

Which window tint shade is right for you?

Selecting the right tint shade can be difficult. Here are some things to ask yourself:

  1. Is the tint for style and looks?
  2. Is it to shield children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
  3. Is it cover up valuables from sight?

Based on your answers to those questions our fully trained professionals are able to help you to select the correct shade. These are the 3 main shades to choose from:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but giving full visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers shelter from heat, UV rays & also adds a little privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is the most popular, it can safeguard from heat, UV rays and provides absolute privacy.

Which car windows can we tint?

We’re often asked about this. Firstly, let us describe how tint is measured.

The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is allowed through. So, a 20% tint makes possible for 20% of light to pass through.

The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Most of vehicles made today have tinted windows at already (or close to) a 70% tint. Even though to some this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, in actual fact it is.

If you go ahead and have your front windows tinted the potential penalty will be (click this link for details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ banning you using your vehicle on the road until you have the extra tint removed.
  • A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.

Also, a factor to consider is your car insurance. By tinting the front windows of your car, you may nullify your insurance.

It’s also illegal to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with heavy fines and penalties. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable business that all customers rely on and as such we choose not to break the law. So we decided to not tint any front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

What type of tint do you use?

Not every window tint meets our standards! The window tints available are:

Dyed/Dipped Window

This tends to be the cheapest tint available to the market, it fades, bubbles, and normally goes a blue or purple colour eventually. It isn’t good quality, and we do not recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also cheap. It is affected by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This isn’t first class, and, won’t last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Premium industry-standard tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it provides great colour, longevity, is not affected by heater lines & doesn’t affect the radio reception.

Ceramic

The greatest tint we can buy, provided as our premium service. It provides great longevity/colour, isn’t affected by heater lines, won’t affect radio and gives the most temperature/UV protection.

All that being said, not all window tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years in the industry, we have chosen what we believe is the best brand available, and what is more, it is all manufactured in Great Britain, meaning when you choose our services you are actually supporting two UK businesses.
