Tinting car windows on your own, is often a disaster waiting to happen, choosing the best brand, shade, and also just aligning it with the window and applying it, can be a real pain! Taking your vehicle to be tinted locally can be a hassle too, having to take time off work, or having no vehicle for many hours waiting for it to be finished, is often not possible.

At Tinted we are completely mobile, and can cover the whole of the West Midlands & Warwickshire including Bidford-on-Avon and local areas. Our process

  • You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and a location that suits you.
  • Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only needing access to a powered plug socket.
  • We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to clear away any dirt or invisible debris previous to tinting them.
  • We may need to remove door cards to access the workings of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
  • After the windows are tinted, we request you do not use the windows for at least 7 days so that they can dry fully, this preserves the edge of the tint.
  • We can then recieve payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.

Which window tint shade is the right choice for your vehicle?

Choosing the correct tint shade can be difficult. Here are some questions to ask yourself:

  1. Would this tint be for style and looks?
  2. Is it to protect children or animals from UV rays or heat?
  3. Do you want to conceal valuables out of sight?

Using your answers to these questions our trained specialists are able to help you to select the correct shade. Here are the three main shades to choose from:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but allowing for complete visibility even in darkness.

Medium tintThis is a factory tinted look, it offers a safeguard from UV rays, heat and also adds some privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is our most widely selected, it provides a guard from heat, UV rays and offers total privacy.

Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?

We’re regularly asked this question. To start with, let’s describe how tint is measured.

The percentage given for a tint defines the amount of light that is allowed through. So, a 20% tint allows 20% of light to pass through.

The allowed legal limit on each of the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Nearly all of vehicles the come from the factory today come with tinted windows at almost (or nearly) a 70% tint. Although to some this glass doesn’t look tinted, it really is.

If you choose to have your front window glass tinted this is the potential penalty (click this link for details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ banning you using your vehicle on the road unless you strip the tint from your vehicle.
  • A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.

Also, a factor to think about is your car insurance. By tinting your front windows, you can nullify your insurance.

It’s also against the law to install tint to the front windows, with large penalties & fines. Tinted is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy business that all customers rely on and because of this we do not want to disobey the law. So we choose not to tint front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

What type of tint do you use?

Not all window tint was created equal! The window tints available are:

Dyed/Dipped Window

This is often found be the cheapest tint on the market, it bubbles, fades, and normally goes a blue or purple colour in the end. It isn’t good quality, and we don’t recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also cheap. It is affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio signals. This is not a premium tint, and, will not last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Premium industry-standard tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it provides great colour, longevity, is not affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio reception.

Ceramic

The finest tint on the market, provided as our premium service. It has the best longevity/colour, is not affected by heater lines, won’t affect radio signals and gives the most temperature/UV protection.

Having said that, not all tint manufacturers are the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we believe is the best brand available, and what is more, it is all manufactured in the UK, which means that when you choose our services you are actually supporting two UK businesses.
