Our process

  • You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and place that suits you.
  • Our uniformed staff will arrive, only requiring access to power.
  • We then wash the car windows with 100% pure water to clear away any dirt or unseen debris before we tint them.
  • We could need to detach the door cards to access the entirety of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
  • After the windows are tinted, we believe its best that you do not use the windows for around 7 days so that they can completely dry, this preserves the edge of the tint.
  • We can then take payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.

Which window tint shade is right for you?

Selecting the correct tint shade can be difficult. Here are some things to ask yourself:

  1. Is the tint for the look & style of your car?
  2. Is it to protect children or animals from heat or UV rays?
  3. Do you want cover up valuables out of view?

Based on your responses to these questions our qualified specialists can help you to choose the correct shade. Below are the three main shades available:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but allowing for full visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers a safeguard from UV rays, heat & does add some privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is our most popular, it provides a guard from UV rays, heat and provides total privacy.

Which car windows are we able to tint?

We are asked this question many times. Firstly, let’s explain the way tint is measured.

The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is allowed through. So, a 20% tint allows 20% of light through.

The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through. Most of cars made today have tinted windows at almost (or nearly) a 70% tint. Although to some this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, in actual fact it is.

If you choose to get your front window glass tinted this is the potential penalty (click here for more details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping you using your vehicle on the road until you have the extra tint removed.
  • A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.

Also, something to think about is the insurance on your car. By tinting the front windows of your car, you can invalidate your insurance.

It is also illegal to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with heavy fines and penalties. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable business that all customers rely on and as such we do not want to disobey the law. So we decided to not tint your front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

What type of tint do you install?

Not every window tint meets our standards! The window tints available are:

Dyed/Dipped Window

This is often found be the cheapest product available to the market, it fades, bubbles, and often goes a blue or purple colour in the end. It isn’t good quality, and we don’t recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This isn’t first class, and, won’t last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Premium industry-standard tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it provides great colour, longevity, is not affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio signals.

Ceramic

The most superior tint on the market, offered as our premium service. It provides the best colour/longevity, is not affected by heater lines, will not affect radio reception and provides the best UV/temperature protection.

All that being said, not all window tint manufacturers are the same, after many years in the industry, we have chosen what we think is best brand available, and even better, it’s manufactured in Great Britain, meaning when you choose our services you are actually supporting two UK companies.
