How it works

  • You make a booking for a time slot and place that suits you.
  • Our uniformed team will arrive, only requiring access to a power point.
  • We then clean the car windows with 100% filtered water to remove any dirt or unseen debris previous to tinting them.
  • We might need to remove door cards to gain access to the workings of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
  • When the windows have been tinted, we ask that you do not use the windows for around 7 days so that they can completely dry, this protects all the edges of the tint.
  • We’re then able to accept payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.

What window tint shade is the right choice for you?

Selecting the correct tint shade can be hard. Here are some things to ask yourself:

  1. Would this tint be to make you car look great?
  2. Is it to protect children or animals from heat or UV rays?
  3. Do you want keep valuables from sight?

From your responses to those questions our qualified professionals are able to help you to select the correct shade. Here are the three main shades available:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but giving full visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers a safeguard from UV rays, heat & also adds some privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is our most popular, it provides a guard from UV rays, heat and offers absolute privacy.

Which car windows are we able to tint?

We’re regularly asked this question. Firstly, let us explain the way tint is measured.

The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. Therefore a 20% tint allows 20% of light through.

The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. The vast majority of cars the come from the factory today come with tinted glass at already (or close to) a 70% tint. Even though to some it doesn’t seem to be tinted, it really is.

If you go ahead and get your front windows tinted the potential penalty will be (click here for more details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping you using your vehicle on the road unless you remove the extra tint.
  • A penalty notice and a court summons.

Also, something to consider is the insurance on your car. By tinting your front windows, it’s possible to invalidate your insurance.

It is also illegal to install tint to the front windows, with hefty penalties & fines. Tinted is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy company that all customers rely on and as such we choose not to break the law. So we decided to not tint your front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

What type of tint do you install?

Not every window tint meets our standards! The window tints available are:

Dyed/Dipped Window

This is often found be the least expensive product available to the market, it bubbles, fades, and will likely go a blue or purple colour in the end. It is quite poor, and we do not recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio reception. This is not a good option, and, won’t last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Top industry-standard tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, is not affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio signals.

Ceramic

The finest tint available, offered as our premium service. It provides great colour/longevity, isn’t affected by heater lines, won’t affect radio reception and gives the most UV/temperature protection.

Having said that, not all window tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we think is best brand available, and even better, it is all manufactured in Great Britain, meaning when you hire our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
