Tinting your car windows on your own, can be a real pain, choosing the best brand, shade, and also just lining it up on the glass and applying it, can be a real pain! Taking your vehicle to have the tint applied locally can be a real burden too, having to take time off work, or having no vehicle for several hours while you wait for it to be finished, is often not possible.

At Tinted we are 100% mobile, and we cover all of Warwickshire & the West Midlands including Wood Green and local areas. So we will come to your home or place of work, saving you time or precious holiday days. We offer a lifetime guarantee for your peace of mind, and we are fully insured for all the tinting work we do.

We are able to offer both tinted & sun strips, light tints, bonnet & roof vinyl wraps, and interior wraps.

What we do

  • You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and place convenient to you.
  • Our uniformed team will arrive, only requiring access to a powered plug socket.
  • We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% filtered water to clear away any dirt or invisible debris previous to tinting them.
  • We may need to remove door cards to access the workings of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
  • When the windows have been tinted, we ask that you don’t use the windows for around 7 days so that they can completely dry, this safeguards the edge of the tint.
  • We are then able to recieve payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.

What window tint shade is right for you?

Choosing the best tint shade can be difficult. Here are some things to ask yourself:

  1. Is the tint for the look & style of your car?
  2. Is it to shield children or animals from UV rays or heat?
  3. Is it cover up valuables out of view?

Using your responses to the questions our qualified specialists can help you to select the correct shade. Here are the three main shades available:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but giving total visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is a factory tinted look, it offers a safeguard from UV rays, heat and also adds a little privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is our most widely selected, it provides a guard from UV rays, heat and provides complete privacy.

Which car windows are we able to tint?

We’re regularly asked this question. To start with, let’s describe the way tint is measured.

The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. Therefore a 20% tint makes possible for 20% of light through.

The legal limit on each of the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through. The vast majority of vehicles the come from the factory today have tinted windows at already (or close to) a 70% tint. Although to some people this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, it really is.

If you choose to get your front windows tinted your penalties range from (click here for more details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the UK road network unless you strip the tint from your vehicle.
  • A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.

Also, a factor to think about is the insurance on your car. By tinting your front windows, it’s possible to invalidate your insurance.

It is also against the law to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with heavy fines and penalties. Tinted is a reliable, trustworthy & respected company that all customers rely on and as such we choose not to disobey the law. So we will not tint front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

Which of the available tint do you use?

Not all window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:

Dipped/Dyed Window

This tends to be the least expensive tint available to the market, it fades, bubbles, and normally goes a blue or purple colour after a while. It is quite poor, and we don’t recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also often very cheap. It is damaged by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio reception. This isn’t a premium tint, and, will not last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Premium industry-standard window tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines & does not affect the radio reception.

Ceramic

The most superior tint available, provided as our premium service. It has great longevity/colour, is not affected by heater lines, will not affect radio signal and gives the most temperature/UV protection.

Having said that, not all manufacturers of tint offer the same, after many years in the industry, we have selected what we believe is the best brand available, and what is more, it is all manufactured in Great Britain, meaning when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
