What we do

  • You make a booking for a time slot and a location convenient to you.
  • Our uniformed crew will arrive, only requiring access to a power point.
  • We then wash the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to eliminate any dirt or unseen debris previous to tinting them.
  • We might need to detach the door cards to gain access to the complete window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
  • Once the windows have been tinted, we believe its best that you don’t use the windows for around 7 days to allow them to completely dry, this safeguards all the edges of the tint.
  • We’re then able to accept payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.

Which window tint shade is right for your vehicle?

Selecting the correct tint shade can be hard. Here are some things to ask yourself:

  1. Is the tint for style and looks?
  2. Is it to shield children or animals from heat or UV rays?
  3. Is it cover up valuables from view?

Based on your answers to the questions our qualified specialists are able to help you to select the right shade. These are the 3 main shades available:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but giving total visibility even in darkness.

Medium tintThis is a factory tinted look, it offers shelter from UV rays, heat and also adds a little privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is the most widely selected, it protects from heat, UV rays and offers complete privacy.

Which car windows can we tint?

We’re regularly asked this question. To start with, let us describe how tint is measured.

The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is allowed through. Therefore a 20% tint permits 20% of light through.

The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Nearly all of cars the come from the factory today come with tinted glass at almost (or close to) a 70% tint. Even though to some it doesn’t seem to be tinted, in actual fact it is.

If you choose to get your front window glass tinted the potential penalty will be (click here for more details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping your vehicle being used on the UK road network unless you strip the tint from your vehicle.
  • A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.

Also, a factor to consider is your car insurance. By tinting the front windows of your car, you can nullify your insurance.

It’s also against the law to install tint to the front windows, with large penalties & fines. Tinted is a reliable, trustworthy & respected company that all customers rely on and as such we do not want to break the law. So we will not tint your front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

Which of the available tint do you use?

Not all window tint meets our standards! The window tints available are:

Dyed/Dipped Window

This is often found be the cheapest product on the market, it bubbles, fades, and will likely go a blue or purple colour in the end. Its really not great, and we don’t recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also disturb radio signals. This is not a good option, and, won’t last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Premium industry-standard window tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it provides great colour, its long lasting, is not affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio signals.

Ceramic

The most superior tint on the market, offered as our premium service. It provides the best colour/longevity, isn’t affected by heater lines, does not affect radio reception and provides the most UV/temperature protection.

Having said that, not all tint manufacturers are the same, after many years in the industry, we have chosen what we have found to be the best brand available, and even better, it is manufactured in the UK, meaning when you hire our services you are actually supporting two UK companies.
