Tinting car windows yourself, is often a real hassle, selecting the right shade, brand, and even just aligning it with the window and applying it, can be problematic! Taking your vehicle to be tinted locally can be a real burden as well, needing to take some time off work, or be without your car for several hours waiting for it to be completed, is often very inconvenient.

At Tinted we are 100% mobile, and we cover the whole of Warwickshire & the West Midlands including Great Alne and surrounding areas. So we can visit your workplace or home, saving you time or valuable holiday days. We guarantee our work for a lifetime for your peace of mind, and we are fully insured for all the tinting work we do.

We are able to offer both tinted and vinyl sun strips, headlight tints, roof and bonnet wraps, and interior wraps.

How it works

  • You make a booking for a time slot and a location that suits you.
  • Our uniformed team will arrive, only needing access to a powered plug socket.
  • We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% filtered water to remove any dirt or unseen debris before we tint them.
  • We could need to detach the door cards to access the complete window. This is done to the best professional standard.
  • After the windows have been tinted, we ask that you do not use the windows for at least 7 days so that they can dry fully, this preserves all the edges of the tint.
  • We are then able to take payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.

What window tint shade is right for your car?

Choosing the right tint shade can be difficult. Here are some things to ask yourself:

  1. Is the tint for style and looks?
  2. Is it to protect children or animals from UV rays or heat?
  3. Is it to conceal valuables from sight?

Based on your answers to these questions our trained specialists can help you to pick the right shade. Below are the 3 main shades to choose from:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but giving total visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers a safeguard from heat, UV rays and also adds some privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is our most widely selected, it provides a guard from heat, UV rays and offers total privacy.

Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?

We’re regularly asked this question. Firstly, let’s explain how tint is measured.

The percentage given for a tint defines the amount of light that is let through. Therefore a 20% tint permits 20% of light through.

The legal limit on each of the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through. Most of cars the come from the factory today come with tinted windows at already (or nearly) a 70% tint. Even though to some this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, it actually is.

If you choose to get your front window glass tinted your penalties range from (click this link for details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the road until you strip the tint from your vehicle.
  • A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.

Also, something to think about is the insurance on your car. By tinting the front windows of your car, it’s possible to nullify your insurance.

It’s also against the law to install tint to the front windows, with large penalties & fines. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable business that all clients rely on and because of this we do not want to break the law. So we choose not to tint your front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

What type of tint do you use?

Not all window tint was created equal! The types of window tint available are:

Dyed/Dipped Window

This tends to be the least expensive tint available to the market, it fades, bubbles, and normally goes a blue or purple colour after a while. Its really not great, and we do not recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This is not a good option, and, won’t last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Top industry-standard window tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, longevity, is not affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio reception.

Ceramic

The finest tint available, offered as our premium service. It provides great longevity/colour, isn’t affected by heater lines, doesn’t affect radio and gives the best UV/temperature protection.

All that being said, not all window tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years of experience, we have selected what we have found to be the best brand available, and what is more, it is all manufactured in the UK, which means that when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
