How it works
- You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and a location that suits you.
- Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only requiring access to power.
- We then wash the car windows with 100% filtered water to remove any dirt or unseen debris before we tint them.
- We might need to remove door cards to access the entirety of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
- When the windows are tinted, we believe its best that you do not use the windows for around a week so that they can completely dry, this protects the edge of the tint.
- We are then able to take payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.
What window tint shade is right for your car?
Choosing the best tint shade can be tricky. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be for the look & style of your car?
- Is it to shield children or animals from heat or UV rays?
- Do you want keep valuables from sight?
From your answers to those questions our trained specialists are able to help you to pick the right shade. Below are the 3 main shades available:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but giving complete visibility even in darkness.
Medium tint – This is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers protection from heat, UV rays and also adds a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most popular, it provides a guard from UV rays, heat and provides total privacy.
Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We’re regularly asked this question. To start with, let us explain how tint is measured.
The percentage given for a tint defines the amount of light that is allowed through. Therefore a 20% tint makes possible for 20% of light through.
The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the glass at the front must let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. The vast majority of vehicles the come from the factory today have tinted glass at already (or nearly) a 70% tint. Even though to some people it doesn’t seem to be tinted, it really is.
If you choose to get your front windows tinted your penalties range from (click here for more details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the road unless you have the extra tint removed.
- A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.
Also, a factor to consider is your car insurance. By tinting the front windows of your car, you can nullify your insurance.
It is also illegal to install tint to the front windows, with heavy penalties & fines. Tinted is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy company that all customers rely on and as such we do not want to break the law. So we decided to not tint front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
Which of the available tint do you install?
Not all window tint was created equal! The window tints available are:
This tends to be the least expensive tint available to the market, it fades, bubbles, and often goes a blue or purple colour eventually. It is quite poor, and we do not recommend it.
This tint is also cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This isn’t a premium tint, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard window tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, is not affected by heater lines & does not affect the radio signals.
The greatest tint available, provided as our premium service. It has great colour/longevity, isn’t affected by heater lines, doesn’t affect radio signal and provides the most UV/temperature protection.
All that being said, not all window tint manufacturers are the same, after many years in the industry, we have chosen what we have found to be the best brand available, and what is more, it’s manufactured in the UK, meaning when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
