Tinting car windows on your own, can be a real pain, choosing the right shade, brand, and even just aligning it with the window and applying it, can be a real pain! Driving your vehicle to have the tint applied locally can be a hassle too, needing to take time off work, or be without your vehicle for several hours waiting for it to be completed, is often not possible.

At Tinted we are 100% mobile, and can cover the whole of Warwickshire & the West Midlands including Horsehay and nearby towns. So we can visit your home or place of work, saving you a lot of time or precious holiday days. We offer a lifetime guarantee for your peace of mind, and we are fully insured for every tinting job we do.

We can also offer both tinted and vinyl sun strips, headlight tints, bonnet & roof vinyl wraps, and interior wraps.

How it works

  • You book an appropriate appointment time and place that suits you.
  • Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only requiring access to a powered plug socket.
  • We then wash the car windows with 100% filtered water to clear away any dirt or microscopic debris before we tint them.
  • We may need to remove door cards to access the entirety of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
  • Once the windows have been tinted, we request you do not use the windows for at least a week to allow them to completely dry, this preserves the edge of the tint.
  • We are then able to take payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.

What window tint shade is the right choice for your car?

Selecting the best tint shade can be difficult. Here are some questions to ask yourself:

  1. Would this tint be to make you car look great?
  2. Is it to protect children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
  3. Do you want to conceal valuables out of sight?

Using your answers to the questions our trained specialists can help you to select the correct shade. These are the 3 main shades available:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but allowing for total visibility even in darkness.

Medium tintThis is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers protection from UV rays, heat and also adds a little privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is our most widely selected, it provides a guard from UV rays, heat and offers total privacy.

Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?

We’re often asked about this. To start with, let us explain how tint is measured.

The percentage produced for a tint defines the amount of light that is allowed through. So, a 20% tint allows 20% of light through.

The legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the glass at the front must let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Most of cars made today have tinted glass at already (or close to) a 70% tint. Although to some it doesn’t look tinted, it actually is.

If you go ahead and have your front window glass tinted the potential penalty will be (click here for more details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping your vehicle being used on the road until you remove the extra tint.
  • A penalty notice and a court summons.

Also, something to think about is the insurance on your car. By tinting your front windows, you can invalidate your insurance.

It’s also illegal to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with large penalties & fines. Tinted is a reliable, trustworthy & respected business that all customers rely on and because of this we choose not to disobey the law. So we decided to not tint any front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

What type of tint do you use?

Not all window tint was created equal! The types of window tint available are:

Dipped/Dyed Window

This tends to be the least expensive tint on the market, it bubbles, fades, and often goes a blue or purple colour in the end. It is quite poor, and we don’t recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio signals. This is not first class, and, won’t last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Premium industry-standard tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it provides great colour, longevity, is not affected by heater lines & does not affect the radio reception.

Ceramic

The most superior tint on the market, provided as our premium service. It provides the best longevity/colour, is not affected by heater lines, doesn’t affect radio and provides the best temperature/UV protection.

Having said that, not all tint manufacturers are the same, after many years in the industry, we have selected what we have found to be the best brand available, and what is more, it’s manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you hire our services you’re supporting two UK companies.

Do you provide mobile window tinting near me?

We can visit your place of work, or where you live which means that you don’t need to be without your car and do not need to wait around for several hours for the job to be completed.
