Tinting your car windows by yourself, can often be a real hassle, choosing the right brand, shade, and even just lining it up on the glass and applying it, can be very difficult! Taking your car to be tinted at a local garage can be a real burden too, needing to take time off work, or be without your vehicle for several hours while you wait for it to be completed, is often a big inconvenience.

At Tinted we are 100% mobile, and we can cover the whole of the West Midlands & Warwickshire including Marden and local areas. So we will come to your home or place of work, saving you time or precious holiday days. We guarantee our work for a lifetime for your peace of mind, and we are fully insured for all the tinting work we do.

We are able to provide both tinted & vinyl sun strips, light tints, roof and bonnet wraps, and interior vinyl wraps.

How it works

  • You make a booking for a time slot and place that suits you.
  • Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only requiring access to a power point.
  • We then wash the car windows with 100% pure water to remove any dirt or unseen debris previous to tinting them.
  • We could need to detach the door cards to access the entirety of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
  • After the windows are tinted, we request you don’t use the windows for at least a week to allow them to dry fully, this preserves all the edges of the tint.
  • We’re then able to recieve payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.

What window tint shade is right for you?

Choosing the best tint shade can be difficult. Here are some things to ask yourself:

  1. Would this tint be for the look & style of your car?
  2. Is it to protect children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
  3. Is it cover up valuables from sight?

Based on your answers to those questions our qualified specialists can help you to pick the correct shade. Here are the 3 main shades available:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but giving total visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers a safeguard from heat, UV rays & does add some privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is the most widely selected, it protects from UV rays, heat and provides absolute privacy.

Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?

We’re asked this question many times. Firstly, let’s explain the way tint is measured.

The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is allowed through. So, a 20% tint permits 20% of light to pass through.

The legal limit on each of the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the glass at the front must let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. The vast majority of cars produced today come with tinted windows at almost (or nearly) a 70% tint. Although to some this glass doesn’t look tinted, in actual fact it is.

If you choose to get your front window glass tinted your penalties range from (click here for more details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping you using your vehicle on the UK road network unless you strip the tint from your vehicle.
  • A penalty notice and a court summons.

Also, something to think about is your car insurance. By tinting your front windows, you may invalidate your insurance.

It is also illegal to install tint to a cars front windows, with large fines and penalties. Tinted is a reliable, trustworthy & respected company that all customers rely on and as such we choose not to disobey the law. So we choose not to tint any front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

What type of tint do you install?

Not every window tint was created equal! The types of window tint available are:

Dipped/Dyed Window

This is often found be the cheapest product available to the market, it bubbles, fades, and will likely go a blue or purple colour eventually. It is quite poor, and we do not recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also often very cheap. It is affected by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio reception. This is not a good option, and, will not last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Top industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it provides great colour, longevity, does not get affected by heater lines & doesn’t affect the radio reception.

Ceramic

The finest tint we can buy, offered as our premium service. It has great longevity/colour, the heater lines do not affect it, doesn’t affect radio and gives the most temperature/UV protection.

Having said that, not all window tint manufacturers are the same, after many years of experience, we have selected what we have found to be the best brand available, and even better, it is all manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you hire our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
