What we do

  • You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and place convenient to you.
  • Our uniformed staff will arrive, only needing access to power.
  • We then wash the car windows with 100% filtered water to eliminate any dirt or microscopic debris before we tint them.
  • We may need to detach the door cards to access the complete window. This is done to the best professional standard.
  • Once the windows are tinted, we believe its best that you do not use the windows for around a week so that they can completely dry, this protects all the edges of the tint.
  • We are then able to take payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.

Which window tint shade is the right choice for your vehicle?

Selecting the correct tint shade can be hard. Here are some things to ask yourself:

  1. Is the tint for the look & style of your car?
  2. Is it to look after children or animals from heat or UV rays?
  3. Do you want keep valuables from view?

From your answers to these questions our fully trained professionals are able to help you to select the correct shade. Here are the three main shades to choose from:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but giving total visibility even in darkness.

Medium tintThis is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers protection from heat, UV rays & does add a little privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is the most widely selected, it protects from UV rays, heat and offers absolute privacy.

Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?

We’re regularly asked this question. Firstly, let’s describe the way tint is measured.

The percentage given for a tint defines the amount of light that is allowed through. Therefore a 20% tint allows 20% of light through.

The allowed legal limit on each of the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Nearly all of vehicles produced today have tinted glass at almost (or nearly) a 70% tint. Even though to some this glass doesn’t look tinted, it really is.

If you go ahead and get your front windows tinted this is the potential penalty (click this link for details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ banning you using your vehicle on the UK road network until you remove the extra tint.
  • A penalty notice and a court summons.

Also, something to consider is the insurance on your car. By tinting the front windows of your car, it’s possible to invalidate your insurance.

It is also against the law to install tint to the front windows, with heavy penalties & fines. Tinted is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy company that all customers rely on and as such we choose not to disobey the law. So we choose not to tint front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

What type of tint do you use?

Not every window tint was created equal! The types of window tint available are:

Dyed/Dipped Window

This tends to be the least expensive product on the market, it bubbles, fades, and often goes a blue or purple colour after a while. Its really not great, and we do not recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This isn’t a good option, and, will not last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Top industry-standard tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it provides great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines & doesn’t affect the radio signals.

Ceramic

The best tint money can buy, provided as our premium service. It has the best colour/longevity, isn’t affected by heater lines, does not affect radio and provides the most temperature/UV protection.

Having said that, not all manufacturers of tint offer the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we think is best brand available, and even better, it is all manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
