Our process

  • You book an appropriate appointment time and place that suits you.
  • Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only requiring access to power.
  • We then wash the vehicle windows with 100% filtered water to remove any dirt or unseen debris before we tint them.
  • We might need to detach the door cards to gain access to the entirety of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
  • When the windows have been tinted, we ask that you don’t use the windows for around 7 days to allow them to dry fully, this safeguards all the edges of the tint.
  • We can then take payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.

What window tint shade is right for your vehicle?

Selecting the right tint shade can be hard. Here are some things to ask yourself:

  1. Is the tint for style and looks?
  2. Is it to protect children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
  3. Do you want keep valuables out of view?

Using your responses to the questions our qualified professionals are able to help you to select the right shade. These are the 3 main shades available:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but allowing for total visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers shelter from UV rays, heat & does add a little privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is our most popular, it protects from UV rays, heat and gives total privacy.

Which car windows are we able to tint?

We are regularly asked this question. To start with, let us explain how tint is measured.

The percentage given for a tint defines the amount of light that is let through. So, a 20% tint allows 20% of light through.

The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Most of vehicles produced today have tinted glass at already (or close to) a 70% tint. Although to some it doesn’t look tinted, in actual fact it is.

If you choose to get your front windows tinted your penalties range from (click this link for details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping you using your vehicle on the UK road network until you have the extra tint removed.
  • A penalty notice and a court summons.

Also, something to think about is your car insurance. By tinting the front windows of your car, it’s possible to invalidate your insurance.

It’s also against the law to install tint to a cars front windows, with hefty fines and penalties. Tinted is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy company that all customers rely on and because of this we do not want to disobey the law. So we decided to not tint front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

Which of the available tint do you use?

Not all window tint was created equal! The window tints available are:

Dyed/Dipped Window

This tends to be the least expensive product available to the market, it fades, bubbles, and often goes a blue or purple colour in the end. It isn’t good quality, and we don’t recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also cheap. It is damaged by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio reception. This is not a good option, and, won’t last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Top industry-standard tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, longevity, does not get affected by heater lines & doesn’t affect the radio reception.

Ceramic

The best tint we can buy, provided as our premium service. It provides the best colour/longevity, is not affected by heater lines, will not affect radio and provides the most temperature/UV protection.

All that being said, not all manufacturers of tint offer the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we believe is the best brand available, and even better, it is manufactured in Great Britain, meaning when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
