Tinting your car windows on your own, is often a disaster waiting to happen, selecting the right brand, shade, and even just lining it up on the glass and applying it, can be a real pain! Driving your vehicle to be tinted locally can often be a hassle as well, needing to take some time off work, or be without your car for several hours while you wait for it to be completed, is often not possible.

At Tinted we’re 100% mobile, and we can cover all of the West Midlands & Warwickshire including Boothen and nearby towns. So we can visit your workplace or home, saving you a lot of time or valuable holiday days. We offer a lifetime guarantee for your peace of mind, and we are completely insured for all the tinting work we do.

We can also offer both tinted & vinyl sun strips, headlight tints, bonnet & roof wraps, and interior vinyl wraps.

How it works

  • You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and place convenient to you.
  • Our uniformed crew will arrive, only needing access to power.
  • We then clean the car windows with 100% pure water to remove any dirt or unseen debris previous to tinting them.
  • We might need to detach the door cards to access the entirety of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
  • When the windows have been tinted, we believe its best that you do not use the windows for at least a week so that they can dry fully, this protects the edge of the tint.
  • We are then able to take payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.

Which window tint shade is the right choice for your vehicle?

Choosing the right tint shade can be tricky. Here are some questions to ask yourself:

  1. Would this tint be for the look & style of your car?
  2. Is it to protect children or animals from UV rays or heat?
  3. Is it keep valuables from sight?

Based on your responses to those questions our fully trained specialists can help you to choose the correct shade. Below are the three main shades to choose from:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but allowing for complete visibility even in darkness.

Medium tintThis is a factory tinted look, it offers a safeguard from heat, UV rays and does add a little privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is our most widely selected, it can safeguard from UV rays, heat and offers total privacy.

Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?

We are asked this question many times. Firstly, let us describe the way tint is measured.

The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is allowed through. So, a 20% tint allows 20% of light to pass through.

The legal limit on each of the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. The vast majority of vehicles made today come with tinted glass at almost (or close to) a 70% tint. Although to some people this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, it actually is.

If you choose to have your front windows tinted this is the potential penalty (click this link for details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ banning you using your vehicle on the road unless you have the extra tint removed.
  • A penalty notice and a court summons.

Also, something to think about is your car insurance. By tinting the front windows of your car, you may invalidate your insurance.

It’s also illegal to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with heavy fines and penalties. Tinted is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy company that all clients rely on and because of this we choose not to break the law. So we choose not to tint any front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

What type of tint do you install?

Not all window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:

Dipped/Dyed Window

This is often found be the cheapest tint available to the market, it fades, bubbles, and often goes a blue or purple colour after a while. It is quite poor, and we don’t recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also often very cheap. It is affected by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This isn’t a premium tint, and, won’t last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Premium industry-standard tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it provides great colour, longevity, is not affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio signals.

Ceramic

The most superior tint we can buy, provided as our premium service. It has the best longevity/colour, isn’t affected by heater lines, does not affect radio signals and provides the most temperature/UV protection.

Having said that, not all tint manufacturers are the same, after many years in the industry, we have selected what we think is best brand available, and what is more, it is manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
