Tinting your car windows on your own, is often a disaster waiting to happen, choosing the best shade, brand, and even just lining it up on the glass and applying it, can be a real pain! Driving your vehicle to be tinted at a local garage can be a hassle too, having to take time off work, or losing your vehicle for many hours waiting for it to be finished, is often not possible.

At Tinted we are 100% mobile, and we cover all of the West Midlands & Warwickshire including Streetly and local areas. So we can visit your home or place of work, saving you time or valuable holiday days. We offer a lifetime guarantee for your peace of mind, and we are fully insured for every tinting job we do.

We can also provide both tinted & sun strips, headlight tints, bonnet & roof wraps, and interior vinyl wraps.

What we do

  • You book an appropriate appointment time and place convenient to you.
  • Our uniformed staff will arrive, only requiring access to power.
  • We then wash the vehicle windows with 100% filtered water to eliminate any dirt or unseen debris previous to tinting them.
  • We could need to remove door cards to gain access to the entirety of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
  • When the windows are tinted, we ask that you don’t use the windows for at least 7 days to allow them to completely dry, this preserves all the edges of the tint.
  • We can then accept payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.

What window tint shade is the right choice for your vehicle?

Choosing the correct tint shade can be tricky. Here are some questions to ask yourself:

  1. Would this tint be to make you car look great?
  2. Is it to protect children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
  3. Is it to conceal valuables out of sight?

Using your answers to those questions our trained specialists can help you to pick the correct shade. Here are the three main shades to choose from:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but giving total visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers a safeguard from UV rays, heat and also adds a little privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is our most popular, it can safeguard from heat, UV rays and offers total privacy.

Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?

We’re regularly asked this question. Firstly, let us explain the way tint is measured.

The percentage produced for a tint defines the amount of light that is let through. Therefore a 20% tint makes possible for 20% of light to pass through.

The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the front windows must let 70-75% of the light through. Nearly all of vehicles the come from the factory today have tinted glass at already (or nearly) a 70% tint. Even though to some this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, it actually is.

If you go ahead and have your front windows tinted the potential penalty will be (click this link for details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the UK road network unless you remove the extra tint.
  • A penalty notice and a court summons.

Also, a factor to think about is your car insurance. By tinting the front windows of your car, it’s possible to invalidate your insurance.

It’s also against the law to install tint to a cars front windows, with heavy penalties & fines. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable business that all customers rely on and because of this we choose not to break the law. So we will not tint front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

Which of the available tint do you install?

Not all window tint meets our standards! The window tints available are:

Dipped/Dyed Window

This is often found be the least expensive product on the market, it fades, bubbles, and normally goes a blue or purple colour in the end. Its really not great, and we do not recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This isn’t first class, and, will not last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Premium industry-standard window tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it provides great colour, longevity, is not affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio reception.

Ceramic

The best tint on the market, offered as our premium service. It provides the best colour/longevity, the heater lines do not affect it, won’t affect radio and provides the most UV/temperature protection.

All that being said, not all window tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years of experience, we have selected what we believe is the best brand available, and even better, it’s manufactured in the UK, meaning when you choose our services you are actually supporting two UK companies.
