Tinting car windows by yourself, can be a real pain, choosing the best shade, brand, and also just lining it up on the glass and applying it, can be very difficult! Driving your vehicle to be tinted at a local garage can often be a real burden as well, having to take some time off work, or be without your vehicle for many hours waiting for it to be finished, is often very inconvenient.

At Tinted we are 100% mobile, and can cover the whole of the West Midlands & Warwickshire including Polesworth and nearby towns. So we will come to your workplace or home, saving you time or valuable holiday days. We guarantee our work for a lifetime for your peace of mind, and we are fully insured for all the tinting work we do.

How it works

  • You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and place that suits you.
  • Our uniformed crew will arrive, only requiring access to a power point.
  • We then wash the car windows with 100% pure water to eliminate any dirt or microscopic debris previous to tinting them.
  • We may need to remove door cards to access the complete window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
  • When the windows have been tinted, we ask that you don’t use the windows for at least a week so that they can dry fully, this safeguards all the edges of the tint.
  • We can then accept payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.

What window tint shade is the right choice for your vehicle?

Choosing the correct tint shade can be hard. Here are some questions to ask yourself:

  1. Is the tint for the look & style of your car?
  2. Is it to protect children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
  3. Do you want keep valuables from sight?

Using your answers to the questions our fully trained specialists can help you to choose the right shade. These are the 3 main shades available:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but giving full visibility even in darkness.

Medium tintThis is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers protection from UV rays, heat and also adds a little privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is our most popular, it provides a guard from UV rays, heat and offers total privacy.

Which car windows are we able to tint?

We’re regularly asked this question. To start with, let us explain the way tint is measured.

The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. Therefore a 20% tint allows 20% of light to pass through.

The legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Nearly all of cars produced today have tinted windows at already (or close to) a 70% tint. Although to some this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, in actual fact it is.

If you choose to have your front windows tinted this is the potential penalty (click this link for details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the UK road network until you strip the tint from your vehicle.
  • A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.

Also, a factor to consider is your car insurance. By tinting the front windows of your car, you can invalidate your insurance.

It’s also against the law to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with large fines and penalties. Tinted is a reliable, trustworthy & respected business that all clients rely on and because of this we do not want to disobey the law. So we will not tint front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

Which of the available tint do you use?

Not all window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:

Dyed/Dipped Window

This tends to be the least expensive product available to the market, it bubbles, fades, and often goes a blue or purple colour after a while. It isn’t good quality, and we do not recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also cheap. It is damaged by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This isn’t a premium tint, and, won’t last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Premium industry-standard tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, longevity, is not affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio reception.

Ceramic

The finest tint money can buy, provided as our premium service. It has great colour/longevity, the heater lines do not affect it, doesn’t affect radio and provides the most UV/temperature protection.

All that being said, not all manufacturers of tint are the same, after many years in the industry, we have selected what we think is best brand available, and even better, it’s manufactured in the UK, meaning when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
