What we do

  • You book an appropriate appointment time and a location convenient to you.
  • Our uniformed team will arrive, only needing access to a power point.
  • We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to remove any dirt or unseen debris previous to tinting them.
  • We might need to remove door cards to access the entirety of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
  • After the windows have been tinted, we believe its best that you do not use the windows for around a week so that they can completely dry, this safeguards the edge of the tint.
  • We can then take payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.

What window tint shade is the right choice for your vehicle?

Choosing the right tint shade can be difficult. Here are some things to ask yourself:

  1. Would this tint be to make you car look great?
  2. Is it to protect children or animals from UV rays or heat?
  3. Is it keep valuables out of view?

From your answers to the questions our trained professionals are able to help you to choose the correct shade. These are the three main shades available:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but allowing for total visibility even in darkness.

Medium tintThis is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers protection from heat, UV rays & also adds some privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is the most popular, it can safeguard from heat, UV rays and offers complete privacy.

Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?

We are regularly asked this question. Firstly, let us explain how tint is measured.

The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. So, a 20% tint makes possible for 20% of light through.

The legal limit on each of the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through. Nearly all of vehicles made today come with tinted glass at already (or close to) a 70% tint. Although to some it doesn’t look tinted, it really is.

If you choose to have your front windows tinted your penalties range from (click this link for details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ banning you using your vehicle on the UK road network unless you remove the extra tint.
  • A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.

Also, something to think about is the insurance on your car. By tinting the front windows of your car, you can invalidate your insurance.

It’s also against the law to install tint to a cars front windows, with hefty fines and penalties. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable company that all customers rely on and because of this we do not want to break the law. So we decided to not tint front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

Which of the available tint do you install?

Not every window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:

Dipped/Dyed Window

This tends to be the least expensive tint on the market, it bubbles, fades, and normally goes a blue or purple colour after a while. Its really not great, and we do not recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This isn’t a premium tint, and, won’t last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Top industry-standard tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it provides great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio reception.

Ceramic

The best tint available, offered as our premium service. It provides the best colour/longevity, the heater lines do not affect it, does not affect radio and provides the most UV/temperature protection.

All that being said, not all manufacturers of tint offer the same, after many years in the industry, we have chosen what we believe is the best brand available, and even better, it is manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
