How it works
- You book an appropriate appointment time and place convenient to you.
- Our uniformed staff will arrive, only needing access to a powered plug socket.
- We then wash the car windows with 100% filtered water to eliminate any dirt or unseen debris before we tint them.
- We may need to detach the door cards to access the entirety of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
- Once the windows are tinted, we request you don’t use the windows for around 7 days to allow them to dry fully, this preserves all the edges of the tint.
- We can then take payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.
Which window tint shade is the right choice for you?
Selecting the correct tint shade can be difficult. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
- Would this tint be to make you car look great?
- Is it to shield children or animals from heat or UV rays?
- Do you want to conceal valuables out of sight?
Based on your responses to the questions our qualified specialists are able to help you to pick the right shade. Here are the three main shades to choose from:
Light tint – This is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but allowing for complete visibility even at night.
Medium tint – This is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers protection from heat, UV rays and also adds a little privacy.
Blackout tint – This tint is the most popular, it protects from heat, UV rays and gives complete privacy.

They’ve come out and installed the tints, but due to the weather being bad, there were some issues with the tint and some air got underneath the tints. When I informed them about it, they were quick to come out and resolve the issue, even though it was freezing and raining outside. Would definitely hire them again for more tinting jobs.

Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?
We are regularly asked this question. To start with, let us explain how tint is measured.
The percentage produced for a tint defines the amount of light that is allowed through. Therefore a 20% tint allows 20% of light through.
The legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Nearly all of vehicles made today come with tinted glass at almost (or nearly) a 70% tint. Even though to some people this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, it actually is.
If you go ahead and get your front windows tinted this is the potential penalty (click here for more details):
- A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the UK road network unless you have the extra tint removed.
- A penalty notice and a court summons.
Also, a factor to consider is the insurance on your car. By tinting your front windows, you may invalidate your insurance.
It’s also against the law to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with heavy penalties & fines. Tinted is a trustworthy,respectable and reliable business that all customers rely on and as such we choose not to disobey the law. So we will not tint front windows.
We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.
What type of tint do you use?
Not all window tint was created equal! The window tints available are:
Dipped/Dyed Window
This tends to be the least expensive product available to the market, it fades, bubbles, and will likely go a blue or purple colour in the end. It isn’t good quality, and we do not recommend it.
Metalized
This tint is also often very cheap. It is damaged by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also disturb radio signals. This is not a good option, and, won’t last.
Carbon or Charcoal
Top industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, longevity, does not get affected by heater lines & does not affect the radio reception.
Ceramic
The best tint available, offered as our premium service. It provides the best colour/longevity, is not affected by heater lines, won’t affect radio signals and gives the best UV/temperature protection.
All that being said, not all manufacturers of tint offer the same, after many years in the industry, we have selected what we have found to be the best brand available, and what is more, it is manufactured in the UK, meaning when you choose our services you are actually supporting two UK businesses.
