What we do

  • You make a booking for a time slot and place convenient to you.
  • Our uniformed crew will arrive, only needing access to a powered plug socket.
  • We then wash the car windows with 100% pure water to eliminate any dirt or unseen debris before we tint them.
  • We might need to detach the door cards to access the entirety of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
  • After the windows have been tinted, we believe its best that you don’t use the windows for at least a week so that they can completely dry, this protects all the edges of the tint.
  • We are then able to accept payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.

What window tint shade is the right choice for your vehicle?

Choosing the right tint shade can be difficult. Here are some questions to ask yourself:

  1. Is the tint to make you car look great?
  2. Is it to shield children or animals from heat or UV rays?
  3. Do you want cover up valuables from view?

Using your responses to the questions our fully trained specialists are able to help you to pick the correct shade. Below are the three main shades available:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but allowing for total visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers shelter from heat, UV rays and does add some privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is our most popular, it provides a guard from heat, UV rays and offers complete privacy.

Which car windows can we tint?

We are often asked about this. To start with, let’s describe the way tint is measured.

The percentage produced for a tint defines the amount of light that is allowed through. So, a 20% tint permits 20% of light through.

The legal limit on each of the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Nearly all of cars produced today come with tinted windows at already (or close to) a 70% tint. Even though to some this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, it actually is.

If you choose to have your front windows tinted your penalties range from (click here for more details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping you using your vehicle on the road until you strip the tint from your vehicle.
  • A penalty notice and a court summons.

Also, something to consider is the insurance on your car. By tinting the front windows of your car, you can nullify your insurance.

It’s also against the law to install tint to the front windows, with heavy fines and penalties. Tinted is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy business that all customers rely on and as such we choose not to break the law. So we choose not to tint any front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

Which of the available tint do you use?

Not all window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:

Dipped/Dyed Window

This tends to be the cheapest tint available to the market, it bubbles, fades, and will likely go a blue or purple colour after a while. It is quite poor, and we do not recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also often very cheap. It is damaged by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also interrupt radio reception. This is not a good option, and, won’t last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Top industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio signals.

Ceramic

The best tint on the market, offered as our premium service. It has the best colour/longevity, the heater lines do not affect it, won’t affect radio reception and gives the most temperature/UV protection.

All that being said, not all window tint manufacturers are the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we believe is the best brand available, and what is more, it’s manufactured in the UK, which means that when you choose our services you are actually supporting two UK companies.
