What we do

  • You book a time slot and a location convenient to you.
  • Our uniformed team will arrive, only needing access to a powered plug socket.
  • We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% filtered water to remove any dirt or microscopic debris before we tint them.
  • We may need to remove door cards to gain access to the complete window. This is done to the best professional standard.
  • Once the windows have been tinted, we ask that you don’t use the windows for at least 7 days to allow them to completely dry, this protects the edge of the tint.
  • We are then able to accept payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.

What window tint shade is the right choice for your vehicle?

Choosing the best tint shade can be hard. Here are some questions to ask yourself:

  1. Is the tint for the look & style of your car?
  2. Is it to look after children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
  3. Do you want keep valuables out of sight?

From your answers to the questions our fully trained specialists are able to help you to pick the right shade. Here are the 3 main shades to choose from:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but giving complete visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is a factory tinted look, it offers a safeguard from heat, UV rays & also adds some privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is the most widely selected, it provides a guard from UV rays, heat and provides absolute privacy.

Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?

We are regularly asked this question. Firstly, let’s explain how tint is measured.

The percentage produced for a tint defines the amount of light that is let through. Therefore a 20% tint makes possible for 20% of light through.

The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the glass at the front must let 70-75% of the light through. Most of cars the come from the factory today come with tinted windows at almost (or close to) a 70% tint. Although to some it doesn’t seem to be tinted, it really is.

If you go ahead and get your front window glass tinted the potential penalty will be (click this link for details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ banning you using your vehicle on the UK road network until you strip the tint from your vehicle.
  • A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.

Also, a factor to consider is your car insurance. By tinting your front windows, you can invalidate your insurance.

It’s also illegal to install tint to the front windows, with hefty penalties & fines. Tinted is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy company that all customers rely on and as such we choose not to break the law. So we decided to not tint your front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

Which of the available tint do you install?

Not all window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:

Dyed/Dipped Window

This tends to be the cheapest product available to the market, it bubbles, fades, and will likely go a blue or purple colour after a while. It isn’t good quality, and we don’t recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio reception. This isn’t a premium tint, and, won’t last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Premium industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, longevity, does not get affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio signals.

Ceramic

The greatest tint money can buy, provided as our premium service. It provides the best longevity/colour, the heater lines do not affect it, doesn’t affect radio signal and provides the best temperature/UV protection.

Having said that, not all tint manufacturers are the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we have found to be the best brand available, and even better, it is all manufactured in the UK, meaning when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
