Tinting car windows yourself, can be a real pain, choosing the right brand, shade, and even just lining it up on the glass and applying it, can be problematic! Driving your vehicle to have the tint applied locally can be a hassle too, needing to take time off work, or having no vehicle for many hours waiting for it to be finished, is often not possible.

At Tinted we’re 100% mobile, and we can cover all of Warwickshire & the West Midlands including Coseley and local areas. So we can visit your home or place of work, saving you time or valuable holiday days. We guarantee our work for a lifetime for your peace of mind, and we are fully insured for all the tinting work we do.

Our process

  • You make a booking for a time slot and a location convenient to you.
  • Our uniformed team will arrive, only requiring access to a power point.
  • We then wash the vehicle windows with 100% filtered water to clear away any dirt or invisible debris previous to tinting them.
  • We might need to remove door cards to gain access to the workings of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
  • Once the windows have been tinted, we ask that you do not use the windows for at least 7 days to allow them to dry fully, this protects all the edges of the tint.
  • We’re then able to recieve payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.

What window tint shade is the right choice for you?

Choosing the best tint shade can be tricky. Here are some questions to ask yourself:

  1. Would this tint be for the look & style of your car?
  2. Is it to look after children or animals from UV rays or heat?
  3. Do you want cover up valuables out of view?

Based on your answers to these questions our qualified professionals can help you to select the correct shade. Here are the three main shades to choose from:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but allowing for total visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is a factory tinted look, it offers shelter from UV rays, heat and also adds some privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is our most widely selected, it protects from heat, UV rays and gives complete privacy.

Which car windows are we able to tint?

We’re regularly asked this question. To start with, let’s describe the way tint is measured.

The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. So, a 20% tint makes possible for 20% of light to pass through.

The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through. The vast majority of cars made today have tinted glass at almost (or close to) a 70% tint. Although to some people this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, it really is.

If you choose to have your front windows tinted the potential penalty will be (click here for more details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping you using your vehicle on the road until you remove the extra tint.
  • A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.

Also, a factor to consider is your car insurance. By tinting your front windows, you may nullify your insurance.

It is also against the law to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with large fines and penalties. Tinted is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy business that all clients rely on and as such we do not want to disobey the law. So we decided to not tint your front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

Which of the available tint do you use?

Not all window tint meets our standards! The window tints available are:

Dipped/Dyed Window

This tends to be the cheapest product on the market, it bubbles, fades, and often goes a blue or purple colour in the end. It is quite poor, and we do not recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This isn’t first class, and, will not last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Premium industry-standard tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines & doesn’t affect the radio reception.

Ceramic

The greatest tint on the market, offered as our premium service. It provides great longevity/colour, isn’t affected by heater lines, does not affect radio reception and gives the best UV/temperature protection.

Having said that, not all manufacturers of tint are the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we have found to be the best brand available, and even better, it is manufactured in Great Britain, meaning when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
