What we do

  • You book a time slot and place convenient to you.
  • Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only needing access to a powered plug socket.
  • We then wash the car windows with 100% filtered water to remove any dirt or microscopic debris before we tint them.
  • We could need to detach the door cards to gain access to the complete window. This is done to the best professional standard.
  • After the windows are tinted, we believe its best that you don’t use the windows for at least a week so that they can completely dry, this safeguards the edge of the tint.
  • We’re then able to recieve payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.

Which window tint shade is the right choice for you?

Selecting the best tint shade can be hard. Here are some questions to ask yourself:

  1. Would this tint be to make you car look great?
  2. Is it to protect children or animals from heat or UV rays?
  3. Do you want cover up valuables out of view?

From your responses to these questions our trained professionals are able to help you to choose the right shade. Below are the three main shades available:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint giving protection from UV rays but allowing for full visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers a safeguard from heat, UV rays & does add some privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is our most popular, it protects from heat, UV rays and gives total privacy.

Which car windows can we tint?

We are often asked about this. To start with, let’s describe how tint is measured.

The percentage given for a tint defines the amount of light that is let through. So, a 20% tint makes possible for 20% of light through.

The legal limit on each of the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through. Nearly all of vehicles made today come with tinted windows at already (or nearly) a 70% tint. Although to some this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, it actually is.

If you go ahead and have your front window glass tinted this is the potential penalty (click this link for details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping you using your vehicle on the UK road network unless you remove the extra tint.
  • A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.

Also, something to think about is your car insurance. By tinting the front windows of your car, it’s possible to nullify your insurance.

It is also illegal to install tint to a cars front windows, with large penalties & fines. Tinted is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy company that all clients rely on and as such we choose not to break the law. So we decided to not tint front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

Which of the available tint do you install?

Not all window tint was created equal! The window tints available are:

Dyed/Dipped Window

This is often found be the cheapest tint available to the market, it fades, bubbles, and normally goes a blue or purple colour after a while. It is quite poor, and we don’t recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This is not a premium tint, and, will not last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Premium industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it provides great colour, longevity, does not get affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio signals.

Ceramic

The finest tint on the market, offered as our premium service. It provides the best longevity/colour, is not affected by heater lines, will not affect radio and gives the best temperature/UV protection.

All that being said, not all manufacturers of tint offer the same, after many years in the industry, we have chosen what we think is best brand available, and even better, it is manufactured in Great Britain, meaning when you hire our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
