What we do

  • You book an appropriate appointment time and place convenient to you.
  • Our uniformed crew will arrive, only requiring access to a powered plug socket.
  • We then clean the car windows with 100% filtered water to eliminate any dirt or microscopic debris previous to tinting them.
  • We could need to detach the door cards to access the entirety of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
  • Once the windows have been tinted, we request you do not use the windows for around a week to allow them to completely dry, this protects all the edges of the tint.
  • We’re then able to recieve payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.

What window tint shade is the right choice for you?

Choosing the right tint shade can be difficult. Here are some questions to ask yourself:

  1. Is the tint for the look & style of your car?
  2. Is it to shield children or animals from UV rays or heat?
  3. Do you want to conceal valuables out of sight?

Based on your responses to the questions our fully trained specialists can help you to choose the right shade. These are the 3 main shades to choose from:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but giving total visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers shelter from heat, UV rays and does add a little privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is the most popular, it protects from UV rays, heat and offers absolute privacy.

Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?

We’re often asked about this. Firstly, let’s explain the way tint is measured.

The percentage produced for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. So, a 20% tint permits 20% of light through.

The legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through. Most of vehicles produced today have tinted windows at already (or nearly) a 70% tint. Even though to some it doesn’t seem to be tinted, it actually is.

If you go ahead and get your front windows tinted this is the potential penalty (click here for more details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ banning you using your vehicle on the road until you have the extra tint removed.
  • A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.

Also, something to consider is the insurance on your car. By tinting your front windows, you may nullify your insurance.

It’s also illegal to install tint to a cars front windows, with heavy penalties & fines. Tinted is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy business that all customers rely on and as such we do not want to disobey the law. So we will not tint any front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

What type of tint do you use?

Not every window tint was created equal! The types of window tint available are:

Dyed/Dipped Window

This tends to be the cheapest product available to the market, it bubbles, fades, and normally goes a blue or purple colour after a while. It is quite poor, and we don’t recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio signals. This isn’t a good option, and, will not last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Top industry-standard window tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, longevity, does not get affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio reception.

Ceramic

The finest tint available, provided as our premium service. It has great colour/longevity, isn’t affected by heater lines, will not affect radio signal and provides the most temperature/UV protection.

Having said that, not all tint manufacturers are the same, after many years in the industry, we have selected what we have found to be the best brand available, and what is more, it is manufactured in the UK, meaning when you hire our services you are actually supporting two UK businesses.
