Tinting car windows by yourself, can often be a disaster waiting to happen, choosing the best brand, shade, and even just aligning it with the window and applying it, can be very difficult! So we can visit your workplace or home, saving you time or precious holiday days. We offer a lifetime guarantee for your peace of mind, and we are completely insured for every tinting job we do.

How it works

  • You book an appropriate appointment time and a location that suits you.
  • Our uniformed team will arrive, only requiring access to a powered plug socket.
  • We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% filtered water to remove any dirt or unseen debris before we tint them.
  • We may need to remove door cards to access the workings of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
  • After the windows have been tinted, we ask that you do not use the windows for at least 7 days so that they can dry fully, this safeguards all the edges of the tint.
  • We are then able to recieve payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.

Which window tint shade is right for you?

Choosing the correct tint shade can be hard. Here are some things to ask yourself:

  1. Would this tint be to make you car look great?
  2. Is it to shield children or animals from UV rays or heat?
  3. Do you want keep valuables out of sight?

Based on your responses to these questions our trained professionals can help you to select the correct shade. These are the three main shades available:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but allowing for complete visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers shelter from heat, UV rays & does add a little privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is the most commonly selected, it protects from UV rays, heat and provides complete privacy.

Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?

We’re asked this question many times. Firstly, let’s explain the way tint is measured.

The percentage produced for a tint defines the amount of light that is let through. Therefore a 20% tint allows 20% of light to pass through.

The legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through. The vast majority of vehicles made today have tinted windows at almost (or nearly) a 70% tint. Although to some people this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, it really is.

If you choose to get your front window glass tinted this is the potential penalty (click here for more details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ banning you using your vehicle on the road unless you remove the extra tint.
  • A penalty notice and a court summons.

Also, a factor to think about is the insurance on your car. By tinting the front windows of your car, you may nullify your insurance.

It’s also against the law to install tint to a cars front windows, with heavy fines and penalties. Tinted is a reliable, trustworthy & respected business that all clients rely on and as such we choose not to disobey the law. So we will not tint your front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

Which of the available tint do you use?

Not all window tint was created equal! The types of window tint available are:

Dipped/Dyed Window

This is often found be the least expensive product available to the market, it bubbles, fades, and normally goes a blue or purple colour after a while. Its really not great, and we don’t recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This isn’t a premium tint, and, will not last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Premium industry-standard tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, longevity, does not get affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio reception.

Ceramic

The best tint we can buy, offered as our premium service. It provides great longevity/colour, isn’t affected by heater lines, won’t affect radio and gives the most UV/temperature protection.

All that being said, not all tint manufacturers are the same, after many years in the industry, we have selected what we believe is the best brand available, and what is more, it is all manufactured in the UK, which means that when you hire our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
