Tinting car windows on your own, can often be a real pain, choosing the best shade, brand, and even just aligning it with the window and applying it, can be problematic! Taking your car to be tinted at a local garage can often be a real burden too, needing to take time off work, or be without your vehicle for several hours while you wait for it to be completed, is often not possible.

At Tinted we’re 100% mobile, and we cover all of Warwickshire & the West Midlands including Oxley and nearby towns. So we will come to your home or place of work, saving you time or precious holiday days. We offer a lifetime guarantee for your peace of mind, and we are fully insured for all the tinting work we do.

We can also offer both tinted & sun strips, headlight tints, roof and bonnet wraps, and interior wraps.

Our process

  • You book an appropriate appointment time and place convenient to you.
  • Our uniformed crew will arrive, only requiring access to power.
  • We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% filtered water to eliminate any dirt or unseen debris before we tint them.
  • We might need to remove door cards to gain access to the workings of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
  • After the windows have been tinted, we request you do not use the windows for around 7 days so that they can dry fully, this protects the edge of the tint.
  • We’re then able to accept payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.

Which window tint shade is right for you?

Choosing the best tint shade can be tricky. Here are some questions to ask yourself:

  1. Is the tint for style and looks?
  2. Is it to protect children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
  3. Is it to conceal valuables from sight?

Using your responses to the questions our qualified specialists can help you to choose the right shade. Here are the 3 main shades available:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but allowing for complete visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers shelter from heat, UV rays and also adds a little privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is our most widely selected, it can safeguard from UV rays, heat and gives absolute privacy.

Which car windows are we able to tint?

We are often asked about this. Firstly, let us explain the way tint is measured.

The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is allowed through. So, a 20% tint permits 20% of light through.

The legal limit on both the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through. Nearly all of cars produced today come with tinted windows at already (or close to) a 70% tint. Although to some this glass doesn’t look tinted, it really is.

If you choose to get your front windows tinted this is the potential penalty (click here for more details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the UK road network unless you strip the tint from your vehicle.
  • A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.

Also, something to think about is your car insurance. By tinting the front windows of your car, you may nullify your insurance.

It is also against the law to install tint to the front windows, with heavy fines and penalties. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable business that all clients rely on and because of this we choose not to disobey the law. So we decided to not tint any front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

Which of the available tint do you use?

Not every window tint meets our standards! The window tints available are:

Dyed/Dipped Window

This tends to be the cheapest product available to the market, it fades, bubbles, and often goes a blue or purple colour eventually. It isn’t good quality, and we do not recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also cheap. It is affected by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio reception. This isn’t first class, and, will not last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Top industry-standard tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines & doesn’t affect the radio signals.

Ceramic

The finest tint money can buy, offered as our premium service. It provides the best colour/longevity, is not affected by heater lines, will not affect radio signal and provides the most UV/temperature protection.

All that being said, not all tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years in the industry, we have chosen what we have found to be the best brand available, and what is more, it is all manufactured in the UK, meaning when you choose our services you are actually supporting two UK businesses.
