Our process

  • You make a booking for a time slot and a location that suits you.
  • Our uniformed team will arrive, only requiring access to a powered plug socket.
  • We then wash the vehicle windows with 100% filtered water to remove any dirt or microscopic debris previous to tinting them.
  • We might need to detach the door cards to access the workings of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
  • Once the windows are tinted, we ask that you do not use the windows for around a week so that they can dry fully, this safeguards all the edges of the tint.
  • We are then able to take payment by, bank transfer, cash, or card.

Which window tint shade is the right choice for you?

Choosing the right tint shade can be hard. Here are some things to ask yourself:

  1. Is the tint to make you car look great?
  2. Is it to shield children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
  3. Do you want cover up valuables out of sight?

From your answers to these questions our trained specialists can help you to choose the correct shade. Here are the three main shades available:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but allowing for full visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers shelter from heat, UV rays & does add a little privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is our most popular, it can safeguard from UV rays, heat and offers complete privacy.

Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?

We’re asked this question many times. To start with, let us explain how tint is measured.

The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is allowed through. So, a 20% tint permits 20% of light to pass through.

The legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the glass at the front must let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. The vast majority of vehicles made today have tinted windows at already (or close to) a 70% tint. Even though to some people this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, it really is.

If you choose to have your front window glass tinted your penalties range from (click this link for details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the UK road network until you have the extra tint removed.
  • A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.

Also, something to think about is your car insurance. By tinting the front windows of your car, you may invalidate your insurance.

It is also against the law to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with hefty fines and penalties. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable company that all clients rely on and as such we choose not to disobey the law. So we choose not to tint your front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

Which of the available tint do you use?

Not every window tint was created equal! The window tints available are:

Dipped/Dyed Window

This is often found be the least expensive tint on the market, it bubbles, fades, and often goes a blue or purple colour eventually. It isn’t good quality, and we don’t recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also often very cheap. It is affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also disturb radio signals. This is not first class, and, will not last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Premium industry-standard window tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, longevity, is not affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio signals.

Ceramic

The best tint we can buy, offered as our premium service. It has the best colour/longevity, the heater lines do not affect it, won’t affect radio signal and provides the best temperature/UV protection.

Having said that, not all tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we believe is the best brand available, and what is more, it is all manufactured in Great Britain, meaning when you hire our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
