What we do

  • You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and a location that suits you.
  • Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only needing access to a powered plug socket.
  • We then wash the vehicle windows with 100% filtered water to eliminate any dirt or unseen debris before we tint them.
  • We might need to remove door cards to access the complete window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
  • After the windows have been tinted, we ask that you do not use the windows for at least 7 days to allow them to dry fully, this preserves the edge of the tint.
  • We’re then able to take payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.

What window tint shade is right for you?

Choosing the right tint shade can be difficult. Here are some things to ask yourself:

  1. Would this tint be to make you car look great?
  2. Is it to shield children or animals from heat or UV rays?
  3. Do you want keep valuables from sight?

Based on your answers to the questions our trained professionals are able to help you to select the right shade. Here are the 3 main shades available:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but allowing for total visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers protection from heat, UV rays & also adds some privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is our most popular, it can safeguard from heat, UV rays and provides absolute privacy.

Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?

We’re regularly asked this question. Firstly, let us describe how tint is measured.

The percentage produced for a tint defines the amount of light that is let through. Therefore a 20% tint allows 20% of light to pass through.

The legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the glass at the front must let 70-75% of the light through. Nearly all of cars made today come with tinted windows at almost (or close to) a 70% tint. Even though to some people it doesn’t look tinted, it really is.

If you choose to get your front windows tinted the potential penalty will be (click here for more details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the road until you strip the tint from your vehicle.
  • A penalty notice and a court summons.

Also, a factor to consider is your car insurance. By tinting the front windows of your car, it’s possible to invalidate your insurance.

It’s also against the law to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with hefty fines and penalties. Tinted is a reliable, trustworthy & respected business that all clients rely on and as such we do not want to disobey the law. So we decided to not tint front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

What type of tint do you use?

Not every window tint was created equal! The types of window tint available are:

Dyed/Dipped Window

This tends to be the least expensive product on the market, it fades, bubbles, and will likely go a blue or purple colour in the end. It is quite poor, and we do not recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also cheap. It is damaged by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This isn’t first class, and, won’t last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Top industry-standard window tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, longevity, is not affected by heater lines & doesn’t affect the radio signals.

Ceramic

The most superior tint available, provided as our premium service. It provides the best colour/longevity, is not affected by heater lines, doesn’t affect radio and provides the best temperature/UV protection.

Having said that, not all manufacturers of tint are the same, after many years of experience, we have chosen what we believe is the best brand available, and even better, it is manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
