Tinted mobile car window tinting in Smallthorne offers a complete car tinting service. Tinting your car windows by yourself, can often be a real hassle, selecting the best shade, brand, and also just aligning it with the window and applying it, can be problematic! Driving your vehicle to be tinted locally can be a hassle as well, having to take time off work, or losing your vehicle for several hours while you wait for it to be completed, is often not possible.

At Tinted we’re 100% mobile, and we can cover all of Warwickshire & the West Midlands including Smallthorne and nearby towns. So we can visit your workplace or home, saving you a lot of time or valuable holiday days. We guarantee our work for a lifetime for your peace of mind, and we are fully insured for all the tinting work we do.

We are able to provide both tinted and vinyl sun strips, car light tints, bonnet & roof wraps, and interior wraps.

How it works

  • You make a booking for a time slot and a location convenient to you.
  • Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only requiring access to a powered plug socket.
  • We then wash the vehicle windows with 100% filtered water to eliminate any dirt or microscopic debris previous to tinting them.
  • We might need to remove door cards to gain access to the complete window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
  • After the windows are tinted, we request you don’t use the windows for around a week so that they can completely dry, this safeguards all the edges of the tint.
  • We can then accept payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.

Which window tint shade is the right choice for your car?

Selecting the right tint shade can be hard. Here are some questions to ask yourself:

  1. Is the tint for style and looks?
  2. Is it to look after children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
  3. Is it to conceal valuables out of view?

From your responses to the questions our trained specialists are able to help you to choose the right shade. Here are the 3 main shades available:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but giving complete visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers shelter from heat, UV rays & also adds some privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is the most widely selected, it protects from UV rays, heat and provides complete privacy.

Which car windows can we tint?

We are often asked about this. Firstly, let us describe the way tint is measured.

The percentage given for a tint defines the amount of light that is allowed through. So, a 20% tint allows 20% of light through.

The allowed legal limit on each of the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the glass at the front must let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Most of cars made today come with tinted windows at almost (or close to) a 70% tint. Although to some it doesn’t look tinted, it actually is.

If you go ahead and have your front windows tinted this is the potential penalty (click this link for details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ banning you using your vehicle on the road until you have the extra tint removed.
  • A penalty notice and a summons by the court system.

Also, something to consider is the insurance on your car. By tinting the front windows of your car, you can invalidate your insurance.

It’s also against the law to install tint to the front windows, with heavy penalties & fines. Tinted is a respectable, reliable and trustworthy business that all clients rely on and because of this we do not want to disobey the law. So we decided to not tint your front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

Which of the available tint do you install?

Not all window tint was created equal! The types of window tint available are:

Dipped/Dyed Window

This is often found be the least expensive tint on the market, it fades, bubbles, and often goes a blue or purple colour in the end. Its really not great, and we do not recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also disturb radio reception. This isn’t a good option, and, will not last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Premium industry-standard tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, is not affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio reception.

Ceramic

The finest tint we can buy, offered as our premium service. It has the best colour/longevity, is not affected by heater lines, does not affect radio reception and provides the best temperature/UV protection.

All that being said, not all manufacturers of tint are the same, after many years of experience, we have selected what we believe is the best brand available, and what is more, it is manufactured in the UK, meaning when you choose our services you are actually supporting two UK businesses.
