What we do

  • You make a booking for a time slot and a location convenient to you.
  • Our uniformed crew will arrive, only requiring access to power.
  • We then wash the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to remove any dirt or invisible debris before we tint them.
  • We may need to detach the door cards to access the workings of the window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
  • Once the windows are tinted, we request you don’t use the windows for at least 7 days so that they can completely dry, this safeguards all the edges of the tint.
  • We’re then able to recieve payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.

Which window tint shade is the right choice for your car?

Selecting the correct tint shade can be difficult. Here are some things to ask yourself:

  1. Is the tint for the look & style of your car?
  2. Is it to protect children or animals from heat or UV rays?
  3. Do you want keep valuables from sight?

From your answers to the questions our fully trained specialists can help you to choose the right shade. Here are the 3 main shades available:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but giving complete visibility even in darkness.

Medium tintThis is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers a safeguard from UV rays, heat & also adds a little privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is the most popular, it provides a guard from UV rays, heat and offers complete privacy.

Which car windows are we able to tint?

We are often asked about this. Firstly, let’s describe how tint is measured.

The percentage produced for a tint defines the amount of light that is allowed through. Therefore a 20% tint makes possible for 20% of light to pass through.

The allowed legal limit on each of the driver’s & the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through. Nearly all of cars the come from the factory today have tinted glass at already (or close to) a 70% tint. Even though to some people this glass doesn’t seem to be tinted, in actual fact it is.

If you go ahead and have your front window glass tinted this is the potential penalty (click here for more details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ banning your vehicle being used on the UK road network unless you strip the tint from your vehicle.
  • A penalty notice and a court summons.

Also, something to think about is your car insurance. By tinting your front windows, it’s possible to invalidate your insurance.

It’s also against the law to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with hefty penalties & fines. Tinted is a reliable, trustworthy & respected business that all clients rely on and as such we do not want to break the law. So we decided to not tint front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

What type of tint do you use?

Not all window tint was created equal! The window tints available are:

Dyed/Dipped Window

This tends to be the least expensive tint on the market, it fades, bubbles, and will likely go a blue or purple colour eventually. Its really not great, and we don’t recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also often very cheap. It is regularly affected by the rear window heater lines, making it bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This isn’t a premium tint, and, will not last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Premium industry-standard window tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, does not get affected by heater lines and doesn’t affect the radio signals.

Ceramic

The best tint money can buy, offered as our premium service. It provides the best longevity/colour, isn’t affected by heater lines, will not affect radio signals and gives the best UV/temperature protection.

All that being said, not all tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years in the industry, we have chosen what we have found to be the best brand available, and what is more, it’s manufactured in the UK, meaning when you hire our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
