What we do

  • You make a booking for an appropriate appointment time and place convenient to you.
  • Our uniformed personnel will arrive, only requiring access to power.
  • We then wash the car windows with 100% pure water to clear away any dirt or invisible debris before we tint them.
  • We could need to remove door cards to gain access to the workings of the window. This is done to the best professional standard.
  • When the windows have been tinted, we believe its best that you do not use the windows for at least 7 days to allow them to completely dry, this preserves all the edges of the tint.
  • We’re then able to accept payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.

Which window tint shade is right for your vehicle?

Choosing the best tint shade can be tricky. Here are some things to ask yourself:

  1. Is the tint for the look & style of your car?
  2. Is it to shield children or animals from UV rays or heat?
  3. Do you want keep valuables out of sight?

From your answers to the questions our qualified specialists are able to help you to select the right shade. These are the three main shades available:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint providing protection from UV rays but allowing for total visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is the same as the factory provides for many cars, it offers protection from UV rays, heat and does add some privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is our most popular, it protects from UV rays, heat and gives absolute privacy.

Which car windows are we able to tint?

We are often asked about this. Firstly, let’s explain how tint is measured.

The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is allowed through. So, a 20% tint permits 20% of light through.

The legal limit on each of the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Most of vehicles the come from the factory today have tinted glass at almost (or nearly) a 70% tint. Although to some people it doesn’t seem to be tinted, it actually is.

If you choose to get your front windows tinted this is the potential penalty (click this link for details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ banning you using your vehicle on the road unless you remove the extra tint.
  • A penalty notice and a court summons.

Also, something to consider is your car insurance. By tinting your front windows, it’s possible to invalidate your insurance.

It is also illegal to install tint to the front windows, with hefty penalties & fines. Tinted is a trustworthy, respectable and reliable business that all clients rely on and because of this we choose not to disobey the law. So we choose not to tint any front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

What type of tint do you use?

Not every window tint was created equal! The window tints available are:

Dipped/Dyed Window

This is often found be the least expensive product on the market, it bubbles, fades, and will likely go a blue or purple colour after a while. It isn’t good quality, and we don’t recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also cheap. It is regularly damaged by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also disturb radio signals. This is not a good option, and, won’t last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Top industry-standard tint. We choose to use this at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, its long lasting, is not affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio signals.

Ceramic

The finest tint we can buy, offered as our premium service. It provides great colour/longevity, isn’t affected by heater lines, won’t affect radio signal and provides the most temperature/UV protection.

All that being said, not all tint manufacturers offer the same, after many years in the industry, we have selected what we believe is the best brand available, and what is more, it is all manufactured in the UK, which means that when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK companies.
