How it works

  • You book a time slot and place convenient to you.
  • Our uniformed staff will arrive, only requiring access to a power point.
  • We then clean the vehicle windows with 100% pure water to eliminate any dirt or unseen debris before we tint them.
  • We may need to remove door cards to access the complete window. This is done to the highest possible professional standard.
  • When the windows are tinted, we ask that you do not use the windows for at least a week to allow them to dry fully, this protects the edge of the tint.
  • We’re then able to accept payment by, card, bank transfer, or cash.

Which window tint shade is the right choice for you?

Choosing the correct tint shade can be hard. Here are some questions to ask yourself:

  1. Is the tint to make you car look great?
  2. Is it to protect children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
  3. Do you want keep valuables from sight?

Using your responses to these questions our trained specialists are able to help you to pick the correct shade. These are the three main shades available:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but allowing for full visibility even at night.

Medium tintThis is how many cars come out of the factory, it offers a safeguard from heat, UV rays and also adds some privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is our most popular, it can safeguard from heat, UV rays and offers complete privacy.

Which car windows is it possible for us to tint?

We are asked this question many times. To start with, let us describe the way tint is measured.

The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. Therefore a 20% tint makes possible for 20% of light through.

The allowed legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Meaning the front windows have to let 70-75% of the light through. The vast majority of vehicles produced today come with tinted windows at already (or close to) a 70% tint. Although to some this glass doesn’t look tinted, in actual fact it is.

If you go ahead and get your front window glass tinted this is the potential penalty (click here for more details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ stopping you using your vehicle on the road until you strip the tint from your vehicle.
  • A penalty notice and a court summons.

Also, a factor to consider is your car insurance. By tinting the front windows of your car, you may nullify your insurance.

It is also against the law to install tint to a vehicle’s front windows, with large penalties & fines. Tinted is a reliable, trustworthy & respected company that all clients rely on and because of this we do not want to break the law. So we will not tint front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

Which of the available tint do you use?

Not every window tint meets our standards! The window tints available are:

Dyed/Dipped Window

This is often found be the least expensive product available to the market, it bubbles, fades, and normally goes a blue or purple colour in the end. It isn’t good quality, and we do not recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also often very cheap. It is damaged by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also disturb radio signals. This is not a good option, and, won’t last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Top industry-standard tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it provides great colour, longevity, is not affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio reception.

Ceramic

The best tint available, provided as our premium service. It provides great colour/longevity, isn’t affected by heater lines, won’t affect radio signals and gives the most UV/temperature protection.

All that being said, not all manufacturers of tint are the same, after many years of experience, we have selected what we believe is the best brand available, and even better, it is manufactured in Great Britain, which means that when you choose our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
