Tinting your car windows yourself, can be a disaster waiting to happen, selecting the best brand, shade, and even just aligning it with the window and applying it, can be very difficult! Taking your vehicle to be tinted locally can often be a real burden too, needing to take the time off work, or having no car for several hours waiting for it to be completed, is often very inconvenient.

At Tinted we’re 100% mobile, and we cover all of the West Midlands & Warwickshire including Aston and surrounding areas. How it works

  • You make a booking for a time slot and a location convenient to you.
  • Our uniformed crew will arrive, only needing access to power.
  • We then wash the car windows with 100% pure water to eliminate any dirt or invisible debris previous to tinting them.
  • We could need to remove door cards to access the complete window. This is done to the best professional standard.
  • After the windows are tinted, we request you do not use the windows for around a week so that they can completely dry, this safeguards all the edges of the tint.
  • We can then take payment by, cash, card, or bank transfer.

What window tint shade is the right choice for your vehicle?

Selecting the best tint shade can be hard. Here are some questions to ask yourself:

  1. Would this tint be for the look & style of your car?
  2. Is it to protect children or animals from things like heat & UV rays?
  3. Is it cover up valuables out of sight?

Using your responses to the questions our trained specialists are able to help you to choose the correct shade. Here are the 3 main shades available:

Light tintThis is a subtle tint offering protection from UV rays but allowing for full visibility even in darkness.

Medium tintThis is a factory tinted look, it offers shelter from heat, UV rays and also adds a little privacy.

Blackout tint – This tint is our most popular, it provides a guard from UV rays, heat and gives absolute privacy.

Which car windows are we able to tint?

We are regularly asked this question. Firstly, let’s describe how tint is measured.

The percentage given for a tint defines how much of the light is let through. Therefore a 20% tint permits 20% of light to pass through.

The legal limit on both the driver’s and the front passengers window is 70%. The windscreen is 75%. Which means the glass at the front have to let 70-75% of the light through any installed tint. Nearly all of cars the come from the factory today have tinted glass at already (or close to) a 70% tint. Even though to some this glass doesn’t look tinted, in actual fact it is.

If you choose to get your front window glass tinted your penalties range from (click this link for details):

  • A ‘prohibition notice’ banning you using your vehicle on the UK road network unless you remove the extra tint.
  • A penalty notice and a court summons.

Also, a factor to consider is the insurance on your car. By tinting your front windows, you can nullify your insurance.

It’s also illegal to install tint to a cars front windows, with heavy fines and penalties. Tinted is a reliable, trustworthy & respected business that all clients rely on and as such we do not want to disobey the law. So we choose not to tint your front windows.

We will happily tint any rear windows as dark as you wish, as there is no legal limit on rear window tints.

What type of tint do you use?

Not all window tint meets our standards! The types of window tint available are:

Dyed/Dipped Window

This is often found be the least expensive tint available to the market, it fades, bubbles, and often goes a blue or purple colour in the end. Its really not great, and we don’t recommend it.

Metalized

This tint is also often very cheap. It is affected by the rear window heater lines, which cause it to bubble. It can also interrupt radio signals. This is not first class, and, will not last.

Carbon or Charcoal

Premium industry-standard window tint. It is what we usually use at Tinted, as it gives a great colour, longevity, does not get affected by heater lines and does not affect the radio reception.

Ceramic

The finest tint we can buy, provided as our premium service. It has great colour/longevity, is not affected by heater lines, won’t affect radio and provides the most temperature/UV protection.

All that being said, not all window tint manufacturers are the same, after many years in the industry, we have selected what we believe is the best brand available, and what is more, it is manufactured in the UK, which means that when you hire our services you’re supporting two UK businesses.
